I visited this store for some candy due to all the social media hype. The woman in front was very cordial and answered all my questions.
Unfortunately, some of the gummy candies tasted rancid. I’ve picked up several types of gummies and some of them tasted just fine while others of the same kind were basically inedible. For this reason, I’m inclined to believe that some of the candies I ate were mixed in from a bad batch. Their wrapped candies tasted fine though. This candy was pretty expensive so I was extremely disappointed when I had to throw out a lot of the pieces after tasting it.
This location appears to have a limited selection of candy since I didn’t see some of the popular ones I saw on social media. It felt like I was missing out on part of the experience and I wished I had gone to a location that carried a bigger selection.
If you must get candy from this location, I would recommend the wrapped chocolates and sour skulls since I did not experience any of the problems I’ve described with those. I also personally though they tasted the best out of everything I’ve picked. However, you can get very similar and even better tasting candy for cheaper else where.
This would make for a cute gift to someone due to the pretty pink packaging they provide. It would also be a nice little activity to do with a friend/girlfriend to pass the time — but that’s it. If you are here just for candy, there are many other places you can go...
Read moreI love the candy here and come like once a week but one of the cashiers comes across as pretty bitter. ( the bigger one)The other one even greet you when entering but this one barely says anything or something half rude and even walks away after you put your card into the machine so you're left alone until finnish shopping. Once the machines were in Spanish and instead of trying to be helpful from her side of the machine she just said " yeah" when I stated it's in Spanish and I don't speak it. Maybe she thinks there's sweet, sour, salt but nothing bitter in the store? I just want my candy but honestly I've been avoiding the store lately
Update; So I went for the tour today. I couldnt resist this "sweet" offer. I brought a friend of mine and it was her first time in the store. We got a great tour from a very sweet and kind guy. And now she knows what swedish candy is. I think she will be back for the zoo...
Read moreI'm not kidding when I say that this is the best candy I've ever had. I've already been to the recently-opened shop twice. It was clearly renovated by owners with not only a deep knowledge of candy, but also a knack for both history and design. While you pick out your favorite flavor of black licorice or chocolate or marshmallow sour gummies, you'll also get to feast your eyes on a spectacular, rare Billyburg cum Soho iron building. Both the banana caramel bubs candies--and 30-foot windows with their statement print dressings--steal the show. Bravo and thank you for the...
