Overall better than dunkin but not as good as La Bagel

I got an everything bagel that would otherwise be confused for a plain bagel. I had absolutely none of the everything that supposed to be on it.

The bagel itself is light and fluffy which was good. And toasted nicely like a crisp outside soft middle thing going for it, although mine was a bit burned. The scallion cream cheese didn’t taste like it, I saw a few sprinklings of scallion in an otherwise plain cream cheese.

Maybe I’m spoiled going to la bagel which has such flavor and depth but this does seem to be the only decent bagel place within a 10 block radius.

I enjoyed my bagel. It was well balanced. Nice doughy texture not too boiled and lovely yeast complexion. Appearance: would describe as banana like starch with fine gradient that helps perfectly groove the bite into your mouth. My one qualm with bobs bagels was lack of cheese choices on my bagel. I understand parmeasan Asiago, but too me a gruyere cheese blend is MUCH BETTER and hopefully they could add soon. I also found scheamers limiting to my complex pallete. I understand many are fine with honey walnut or something basic like gravlox infused, but too me if you don’t offer a paprika blend you CANNOT be considered a serious east village bakery. If you want your 1990s NYC experience this is it. It’s got the hustle of hard working individuals, people coming in to grab the best NYC bagel and their simple hot drip coffee to go at a fair and cheap price. Its not fancy and filled with influencers but honestly worthy of one for the experience. You wait in line for never more than 5 min. You get your bagel - thick, warm, fresh, chewy and dense- everything a truly good bagel should be. The staff are always pleasant and hard working.
