When I walked into this little coffee shop, I thought it was cute and i was happy because I could bring my dog in to get myself something to drink and water for him. The reason I won’t be going back is because I asked if I could have water to add to the water bowl outside for my dog and she said that she would fill it as soon as she could so I said OK and sat outside for a while. I decided to bring the bowl in and working in foodservice myself i didn’t want her to take it, only to add a cup of water to it while I held it. I was waiting behind 1 person she was helping and before I could say anything, she told me to take it back outside that she would fill it when she could. I started to just ask for a cup of water and she says “i have customers.” So i guess my $8+ matcha latte with tip i was holding didn’t count me as a customer. It was just rude and so unnecessary. Read moreMy favorite coffee shop in Cobble Hill! The drink and pastry selection offers something excellent for everybody. My personal favorites are their speciality Turkish coffee and iced chai latte, which are consistently great, but their regular cold brew and drip coffee are, in my opinion, the best in the area. You can’t go wrong with any pastry option, although the Turkish baklava, pistachio roll, semolina cookie, and lemon cake are some of my go-to options. For those seeking something more filling, the avocado toast, which is a masterful blend of American and Turkish flavors, is a truly wonderful choice. The owner and staff are incredibly sweet and welcoming, and they are part of the “joy” of stopping by. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the area, whether you’re dining in or taking your goods to go, Joy Coffee and Treats is a must-do. I cannot recommend it...
Read moreLet me start by saying these are nice owners and they make good coffee and food....my problem is the serving size & your ingredient choice..you charge $12 for a fit plate with turkey and yet your $18 Turkish Breakfast plate does not have much more besides some spreads and extra bread. You add very little processed meat and sides for this price, even the tiniest slab of butter on the bread. Also, a turkish meal should have more authentic bread, sliced white bread is not it, pita bread or barbari would be much more appreciated. I think the turkish coffee price should be reduced a little, its a tiny amount and most places give it for $3-4 at least. I love Turkish food&culture so I hope you try out these suggestions and i will gladly give you 5 stars for accomodating...
