Bungee Space — Restaurant in New York

We were looking for coffee—it got cold during our visit to the New Museum. (Faith Ringgold, go see it immediately!!) There are very few nearby acceptable spots (not Starbucks, with inside seating). We saw a pylon at the corner of Stanton and Bowery directing us east. Bungee Space is a LOVELY spot with TREMENDOUS coffee. It's loaded with stuff I want. I'll be back to look at allllll the stuff, and see what else they are about. I've lived in the East Village for 40+ years, and the space is refreshingly free of commercialization. It harkens back to another time, when nice places with handmade things, art, coffee, good music...

Coffee shop, book store, clothing store all in one. This place is quite unique, hidden away from the busy streets nearby. If you are looking to avoid the crowded coffee shops and want to relax and freshen up in relative peace, this is the place to go. There are only a handful of seats for customers to sit down but once seated, you can check out the book collection in silence (as there is no music playing in the background). Quiet little book and coffee shopping with a small selection of artist books for sale and another section of not for sale books you can look through. There’s a coffee area with few seats and some (quite expensive) clothes for sale in the back.

It feels a bit like the shy younger sibling to Printed Matter.

When I visited there were maybe 5 customers in the shop. There was no music playing and everyone was completely silent, which felt a bit awkward.
