This place is pretty good for brunch. The staff was nice and it was cool meeting the chef. I think his name was chef Calendar. Anyway, The prices were not bad. $50 for 90 minutes bottomless mimosas and including one entree. However, not including the oxtail & grits and rasta pasta entrees. They have guava and other flavors as well for bottomless drinks. You have options. It looks small but they do have extended space past the kitchen. So they can accommodate large groups. My only disappointment was with the menu. They had only one vegan option and that was cauliflowers as appetizers. They had no vegan entrees. And the kale salad was lackluster. It was just chopped up and left dry. Nothing was done with the kale to make it pop. It was just dry kale with parmesan cheese. The salad dressing did help but the salad overall was lacking. My friends liked the chicken and waffles. I think another friend had the shrimp & grits and they like that too. But if you're vegan, it's hard to take advantage of the bottomless mimosas cuz no entree available for you to eat. The jerk cauliflower was slamming but not enough. Nevertheless, the staff did work with me so I appreciate that. Good experience.

Charsu and I came here for brunch and a catch up meal. Upon entry, there was a huge crowd of people blocking the entrance. They just seem to be standing there. We waited more than 10 minutes and we tried getting someone's attention as we were waiting to be seated and there were quite a few of empty seats available. After more than 15 - 20 minutes, we were finally seated. It took another 15 minutes before we got the menu and someone came over to take our order. Our waiter came took our order and filled our water cups. That was the last we saw of him until of course, as soon as we put down our forks, he comes running with the bill. The place wasn't packed and there was still quite a few empty seats. Our waiter didn't even give us a chance to finish our drinks before he came with the bill. One thing I didn't like is that they put an automatic 20% tip regardless of party size. This was annoying since, there wasn't any service! No one came to check in on us and our water cups were empty since the initial filling along with having to eat our food without having extra syrup or hot sauce as requested. Also, when the server came with the handheld computer, the computer asks for another tip. Be sure to double check your bill to ensure you didn't pay double the tip. We ordered chicken and waffles ($20) and chicken with french toast ($24). The food took more than 45 minutes to come out and it was piping hot. The chicken was delicious and crunchy. It had the perfect level of spice and crunch. Unfortunately, though they didn't properly drain the chicken and it was hella greasy. My friend's french toast was charred and burnt to a crisp in certain spots and it was inedible. For the prices and the portion size, every single bite of the meal should be consumable especially after waiting for so long for the food. A table behind us, their chicken was so burnt, that it looked like blackened chicken. I saw the diner scraping off the burnt pieces with their knife. The cooks here should be more consistent or try to pay attention as these types of inconsistencies ruined an otherwise great dining spot.

If I could leave 0 stars I would 🥺and honestly that hurts my heart to say because I drove 3 hours from jersey to get there and I love supporting black owned businesses. First to start they sat us outside in a little outdoor area they created and it was not the cleanest. It smelled like a Portal Potty which was not pleasing because of the reasons I choose this place was because of the ambiance indoors after watching Tik Tok. It took 30 mins for them to even come and ask us what we would like to drink. Next after ordering our drinks and food it took them an additional 30 mins to bring the drinks …. And it was only lemonade btw. I still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I decided to wait until the food come out to really form an opinion of them. THE FOOD TOOK SO LONG THAT WE WERE ABLE TO WALK GO INSOMNIA COOKIE TO GET SOMETHING TO HOLD US OVER🫠 by the time we got back they had finally brought the food out and it was not what I expected. I ordered The jerk chicken and it was not good at all. It was salty and dry. The rice smelled like they used to much coconut milk. My sister and her boyfriend had the oxtail Rasta pasta and the oxtails were sweet which she didn’t like. There was also not enough sauce to coat the pasta it was really dry. My boyfriend had the chimichurri steak with mash and broccoli and he could only eat the steak. I’ve never seen mash potatoes taste like that. We barely ate any of the food. I ordered the jerk wings and oxtail Mac for Appetizers and they didn’t come out until the very end when I asked for the bill therefore I sent it back. I am highly disappointed in this establishment. Like my feelings are genuinely hurt because I had really high expectations. I also wasted $250 on food I didn’t even eat. I would not recommend. Not to top that by the time she brought the plastics utensils to the table our food was COLD,

*make a reservation instead of walking in If u still decide to go after my review" I was really searching for a new resturant to try. I looked at the menu and I thought most of the items was different from what other restaurants have. The drink menu I saw there was nothing I would drink but I thought why not. I received a call asking me to confirm the reservation. I was told there is a 15 minute grace period and 90 minutes dinning. First of all the space is way to small. I don't like to feel like any movement I will hit someone or knock things off the table. It was so small that twice they had to move people to put together tables for 3 or 4 people. My boyfriend and I was one of these people who had to move over so they could put two tables together. I could count about 8 seating with tables and everyone else sits at the bar.. The drink I had was AM. I didn't like it. My BF likes his. We order the lamb with pretzel bun and it wasn't good. Then for appetizers we got the glazed salmon with pineapple coconut rice with spinach/broccoli. We both thought the salmon was tasteless along with the rice. Even the carrots in the rice was hard and you could not taste a hint of Pineapple or coconut. Then on top of this there is a 20% gratitudy automically added. The bathroom didn't have soap and the water was extremely cold. I would not be returning I was beyond irritated. Ps. I didn't even finish my food I gave it to my bf who stated he was still hungry. There portion is small also.

A smaller restaurant with a good soulful vibes. This restaurant is the epitome of black culture. From the black artwork posted on their walls to the R&B hits played through their sound system. I came here with my partner and it was a good time. - Alcoholic drink(s): We started off with the “Zombie,” and man it was hitting! This well blended drink will definitely have you in a good mood. We followed this drink with “Lucky Charm,” this was just as good but on the sweeter side. - Appetizer(s): We got the Jerk Wings with a side of Guava sauce and Shrimp and plantains. The Jerk wings were evenly charred and seasoned. Honestly, I wish it had a little more kick to it but a solid 9/10. For the Shrimp and plantains we gave it a 7/10 nothing crazy. - Entire: We got the Lamb Chops and Griot plate. My spouse is Haitian and said that the Griot was perfect but the rice wasn’t actual Djon rice. The meal was paired with Spinach which is weird. We gave it a 8/10 only because the Griot was fire. The lamb Chops were tendered and seasoned with a little kick. Mash potatoes were on point with the caramelize Brussels sprouts. Gave it a solid 9.5/10.

Cute little place with a friendly staff this night. Going in I had read service could be a bit slow, but then I read from others it was quick. This time around it was definitely on the slower side, however it was the food I was after as I heard it was delicious. And for the most part, it was good with a mixed bag in between. Service isn't everything, but when it doesn't go well it does put a little damper on the meal and in our case left more to desire. Sat us outside, but forgot to give utensils, napkins and plates when the food started coming out and walked away immediately. Took some time to get any staff attention which led to some of the food cooling down too much. Mac n' cheese was baked and creamy and the calamari was seasoned superbly with a nice amount of crunch. The steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes could've used more of the sauce to add more flavor, but I'd still eat it again. Pasta was also good, however the salmon would have to pass on. Was overcooked and dry. We would come back again, but most likely a lot earlier to avoid the slowdown when they are busy
