Chip City — Restaurant in New York

This is a review as someone that has never had a cookie from a place that specializes in cookies. I love cookies and especially anything related to chocolate. So I went to go get chocolate chip cookies. Now to start off with the positives, it’s a big, fluffy, soft sized cookie, is filling, had a consistent texture and flavor, and it does taste good. They had a variety of choices to pick from and they all did look good. Now I will say there is only 1 negative I have for this place, I find it hard to justify the price of $5.50 for each cookie that is barely better tasting then standard. I do see myself coming by again if I was craving a cookie and don’t have the time to bake it, but I can guarantee it won’t be often because of the price. Either way it was a nice first...

These cookies look great, and are about $4 a cookie, but the taste doesn’t have me longing for more like when I eat an Insomnia cookie or a Levain. I had their classic chocolate chip cookie last night and this morning, and though the cookies are a good chunky size, something about their chocolate chips maybe tastes of a lesser quality than at other bakeries. I’ve had these cookies before in Astoria like many ions ago and remember feeling the same way when I first bit into their cookie, and last night I figured I give them another chance, but I’m getting the same feeling. In between 3 and 4 stars. This place is right next to my house I go here pretty often. I have to say it is really good and really well baked, but it's sometimes it's too much chocolate and it can be very very overpowering. You would always need milk or else you feel very very bad. I don't have a huge sweet tooth, which might be the reason, but for every let's say morsel there could be anywhere from 4 to 5 chips. That's a lot. Like you barely see any of the dough. If you like that this place is the place for you! If you don't, try the walnut choco chip which is still too much or the salt choco chip. I'd say that helps. But my fav is just reg choco chip.
