Chris — Restaurant in New York

I really wish if I could give this restaurant 0 stars. There is a particular young lady who never give me what I pay for. A few occasions I ordered food and didn’t check my food until I reach home only to discover that I didn’t get what I pay for. On one occasion I returned to the restaurant with the food because she didn’t put in all that I ordered in the box. The young lady was very hostile towards me and told me that she did not charge me for the macaroni and cheese. I explain to her that I ordered the mac & cheese but she messed up my order and I left my wallet at home. She was very rude and refused to give me a piece of macaroni and cheese that cost only $3. I asked for the manager and she refused to call him and I asked her what’s her name and she refused to tell me. I called the restaurant late in the evening and got on to the manager and it seems like he has never dealt with her. So, I had stop going there for a very long time and decided to stop by tonight and to my surprise she did the same thing to me except this time she charged me for the mac&cheese but didn’t give it to me. I am beyond upset off right now. I feel like she did that to me on purpose because she obviously remembers my face. I can’t wait for morning to come so that I can report this restaurant...

After I walked 20 minutes because Angela's was closed so was Island Grill I found this place and I ordered a medium oxtail with rice and peas and 2 piece fried chicken...I was highly dissapointed the oxtail was salty the rice was hard and clumpy the chicken had no taste and was not cleaned properly and it was also very dry. Half of my plate was doused with gravy so it made my hard rice in that section slightly edible. The only highlights of my visit was the server gave me about 20 pieces of oxtail in my medium container which is unheard of but nevertheless it was salty. The squeezer juice was refreshing and I had a slice of cake that was delicious. The server who was a Male seemed nice and friendly. I would never come back again....could they have just been having a bad day I'm sure that's possible. There were 3 other people dining in and they were either caucasian or non Caribbean and they seemed to enjoy there food. I think that after the food is cooked the servers and chefs should taste test everything before they put it out. I wasted $27.00 worth of food and threw away...

Chris is the bomb. First off, their jerk chicken is amazing. It comes in a "dinner" (what many restaurants would call a "meal") with rice/beans, cabbage, and some plantains, and at $9.50 a medium is more food than I've ever been able to eat--and a true pleasure. Order it with the oxtail gravy and plenty of jerk sauce, and you can't find many better meals in the neighborhood.

The sides are solid, though the quality seems to vary a bit by what time of day you go. The cornbread has been both amazing and lackluster in the different times I've gone. The mac n cheese is a good choice too.

Also worth mentioning that the beef patties are probably the best I've had in the neighborhood, and at $2 a piece you've got a good snack with one and plenty of food with two. Overall, would recommend Chris to anyone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and enjoy some...
