Nothing better than a painted bowl and dim lighting to allow you to feel relaxed as you release. Stare at the candle and give in to the wave of intoxication come on from the delightfully fruity cocktail or craft beer. A knock on the single bathroom door will make you return to reality and realize there is a long line of hip 20-somethings waiting for their turn. Open the door and enter back into the brilliant bar space with colored lighting and perfect vibing tunes.

The interior caught me by surprise. The layout is pretty open and there is one booth in the corner. The bartender was nice enough and drinks were fairly priced. They even have two special cocktails for $10. They have a few finger food items as well. Worth it for a chill summer evening.

If you like mezcal I definitely recommend the devil’s plaything which isn’t sweet and more like bittersweet and spicy 🌶 . If you want something softer the Queen of corona is mild with watermelon flavour. The service was very stressed out on the verge with too dry/unfriendly.

I've definitely had good experiences before at this place, but the service yesterday is worth noting. Because I don't want this place going downhill. It was pouring rain out but my fiance and I were meeting up a friend for drinks. We got there first and stood in the rain (as the six tables were occupied) and the server passed a couple times without even so much as a "be right with you". Eventually when someone got up, she gestured to us, pointed at the table and said "sit here, order there" pointing at the window. Warm welcome indeed.

When our third came to meet us, we needed a chair and asked a man sitting nearby who had an extra sitting open. He said someone was coming so he needed it, but that we should ask the staff, they'll probably bring out chairs. You would think so right? I asked the woman if we could have an extra chair so that a friend could sit with us, under the tent out of the rain (mind you), and all she could say was "You have to ask around, that's how everyone else is doing it" or something to that effect. Hard to hear, it was raining, and she wasn't going out of her way to be helpful in any capacity. So we left.

Why would it be so difficult to get one chair to help us all sit and ORDER DRINKS. Losing patronage for what?? I'll never understand why staff like this get hired. King Tai, don't...

I had been to King Tai a few times pre-pandemic (I've lived in Crown Heights for over decade) but started going more often after my favorite bad closed for good in the spring/summer. It became particularly easy to swing by in the evenings after spending a few hours in the community garden up the street. I started to wonder, sweaty and smeared with dirt, if I could make King Tai my neighborhood spot. I realized I had this morning when I thought, rather naturally, that of course I would pick up a rum punch to go to celebrate Biden's win.

I'm so honored King Tai has taken me in--the bartenders are so welcoming--and I am so grateful that in 2020, the year of tragedy and uncertainy, King Tai is providing the neighborhood a gathering spot.

The cocktails are outstanding. There's no nice way to say this: I'm picky and stuck up. These...

As a bar owner myself, these reviews are ridiculously important! So go out, support local, and leave honest reviews.

I had the pleasure of supporting my friend, Shannon, at an event in the upstairs lounge area, and we had a blast.

The space, while intimate, boasts the vibe of a neighborhood bar with callbacks to the real, tropical vibe without overdoing it. The venue hasn't been modified heavily in order to retain the character of the space.

I can genuinely appreciate the love and attention to detail that went into ever aspect of this space & look forward to getting down there for another cocktail. It's amongst the few bars I'd willingly drive down to from upstate NY in the search for a...
