I walked in for a gel manicure. Initially I wanted to get a design on my nails, but the nail technician told me they didn't do designs which I was fine with because not salons do designs. Since I have a terrible habit of biting my nails, I asked if they could put on acrylic nails for me. The nail technician rather rudely told me that they didn't do acrylic either. I ended up telling the technician that I wanted "regular French manicure", at which she started speaking in her native language and repeating the words "regular manicure" and the other nail techs started laughing--making it obvious that they were talking smack about me and proceeded to talk smack about me for the duration of the session. My total came to $14. I've been to other salons before and am usually good about tipping anywhere between 20-50%. However, the nail technician was wicked rude. I won't...

I have been coming here for seven years and they are my favorite!! The gel manicures last sometimes up to 4-5 weeks. Most of the ladies working here are awesome but sometimes the newer girls do a so so job with shaping. The value is insane for the city. The workers are super friendly. Yes, sometimes they laugh at people but it’s always the most entitled customers who act up and throw fits. (Which given the neighborhood is often) I’ve never seen them make fun of a regular customer. Sometimes they are slammed and tell you unrealistic wait times. 15 minutes can easily become 45 so if you’re in a rush, make an appointment. The techs are always working super hard nonstop so I don’t hold it against them. I feel spoiled here because most salons don’t pay that much attention...

I was a regular customer at Nirvana for over 2 yrs until today I walked in to receive a mani + pedi, a new nail tech approached me (unfortunately my previous nail tech Lisa left for a new salon, now in hindsight I understand why). I described to the nail tech the color I was looking for. About 2 minutes later another customer came in asking if anyone was available for a gel mani. It is at this point that the nail tech started asking me if I could wait 15-20 mins. I asked her why, she then said something in her native language then another technician told me that the customer who came in after me had an appointment, a clear overt lie.
