UPDATED REVIEW The manager reached out to us a few weeks ago apologizing for the experience we had and invited us to come back. Our reservations were for 7pm Saturday February 8- the sushi was excellent as always. The pace of the meal was significantly more relaxed and it truly added to the experience. Our chef was friendly and enjoyable and the team was responsive and generous with us. It was like the experiences we’ve had so many times before. We will definitely be coming back again! ——
Great sushi and service by the sushi chefs but unfortunately extremely rushed by the 1 hour time limit per seating. We’ve dined at Fuku Omakase probably 5 times since they first opened. Originally they only had ~3 seatings per night and even when they had a dessert course. Now it’s every hour and it’s a disservice to the experience to try and enjoy 13 pieces in such s short time frame. It was actually less than an hour tonight we had our first piece at 5:10 and they were trying to turn over tables at 5:50. I’d rather have them increase their prices to cover their cost rather than have such a rushed experience for omakase. Really hoping they change this so we...
Read moreWe tried the casual, 60-min omakase at Fuku Omakase.
It’s a small space and they book 60-min sessions every hour, so when you arrive, you wait in the small space right behind guests sitting and dining at the sushi counter.
The service was great. It’s BYOB, which I’d forgotten, but they had extra sake, which they kindly served us.
There are some seats where the air conditioner blows directly, but we were sitting in the corner and we were ok. With one of the corner seats, because there is distance between the sushi chef and your plate, they put the sushi on another plate for you to take and put on your plate—which felt a bit odd.
The sushi was good. They put on fancy toppings like foie gras and caviar, which I actually would prefer without, and for them to make the overall price lower. I also didn’t love the A5 Wagyu Beef sushi. (and they used the term “cow” on their menu, which was unusual) But the Botan Ebi with Uni was so delicious. And we had a Toro Taku hand roll instead of their usual hand roll, which I also enjoyed.
Overall, we had a good experience. If you’re looking for a quick sushi meal with a variety of flavors, you could...
Read moreWe came here as an impromptu sushi deal wanting some nice quality fish with a set menu. The space is small, intimate and white. That being said the utensils and plates had their own charm and helped us feel elevated. 13 course sushi menu that changes everyday according to their delivery at an affordable price, plus a byob. We bought a wee 6pack of light beer and it was poured for us in glasses by the sweet and genuine staff who were very ready to accommodate, but not overbearing. There’s 9 seats I believe and the turnover was quick, yet not rushed. I think this is a wonderful starter omakase due to all of the selections being familiar and of a nice quality. After the experience is finished you are welcome to order additional menu items which we did: the chef’s choice which was cooked beef, tuna and (I hope I’m not wrong lol) picked radish in a cigar style handroll and we picked two of our favorites. The sushi chefs were very friendly and kept their energy up, which I’m sure can be tough when you’re only at your 8pm reservation. I hope they stick around and keep up the good work, because we had such a great time and...
