Placed a custom cookie shipping order with this company on the 11th asking for it to be delivered by Dec 26th or 27th and no later than that. I was told I could pay $25 and it would get me 2 day shipping so the cookies would arrive at the time I requested. The lady I spoke to said they would be shipped out on the 21st or 24th so they would come on time and I would receive a tracking number. On the 22nd, I called to check on the status of my order and the lady was clueless when I gave her my name so I had to explain exactly what I ordered and when I wanted it again before she could tell me they were iced and are drying. She also said she could email me pictures (they had my email from initial inquiry.) I asked would they be sent out on the 24th so I would receive them on time and was confirmed yes, that would be the case. Today is the 26th, I never received pictures so I called and asked if my order was sent and where was the tracking number. The lady I spoke to said she wasn’t there on the 24th so she doesn’t know if it was sent and said they just send them out they don’t contact customers. Another lady intervened who said they were shipped out on the 24th. I asked if I could get the shipping number then and the lady said they don’t have it and they don’t know how they would get it. At this point, the lady in the background took the phone and said they could call back in less than 30 minutes with an estimated delivery time and shipping number. Fifteen minutes later, I got a call being told that my cookies will arrive on December 31st because they were shipped as ground shipping. I explained that’s not when I asked for them to be delivered and that I was under the impression that the shipping I paid for was to get them as 2 day shipping and arriving on the 26th or 27th. The lady said well there’s no way for them to check what I paid for for shipping because they most likely don’t have my order information anymore. No compensation was given for any of the misinformation I received. I asked to speak to a manager or owner and was told she probably won’t be in until tomorrow. Hopefully, I will receive a call but as of now I am not happy with the...
Read moreI think the bakery is mostly famous for the face cookies that they make. I have not partaked in them so I can't say but their other treats I am a fan! You will be intoxicated from the minute you open the door.
If I were a cupcake, I would be any one of the ones here. First, they are pretty and delicate and who doesn't want to be pretty? Second, the flavors of both frosting and cupcake are spot on. The perfect bite of frosting and cupcake will make your smile even bigger and your blood sugar levels rise due to pure bliss.
The cupcake choices are banana, chocolate and vanilla. You can choose from a variety of frostings: chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, cookies and cream, nutella or matcha. My favorite is the vanilla cupcake with strawberry frosting. They make a buttercream frosting and let me tell you, it's heavenly. It's creamy, buttery with the right amount of strawberry flavor. It's subtle in strawberry but you can definitely taste it. This is the strawberry butter you want to put on everything. Somehow their frosting is light as well. The cupcake walks the line of being dense but fluffy and light. It's so tender on the inside with just the slightest touch of crispy edges. It's a party in your mouth of texture and flavors.
My other treat that I enjoy here are the chocolate chip cookies. They are very similar to Levain's but they don't have nuts here. I actually like nuts but still love these cookies without them. The cookies here are small mountains of a cookie. They have the crunchy edges and the doughy center. I prefer them to Levain's because their doughy center is just doughy enough but not so much that I feel like I am eating raw cookie dough. I also prefer their level of sweetness which is less than Levain's.
Good luck on your self control and walking home with an acceptable...
Read moreI stopped by Funny Face Bakery today on their grand opening at the Seaport. Such a cute shop! Owner, Sarah Silverman, was on hand and made sure to say hello to everyone. They are known for their hand painted face cookies. So fun and creative... no boring old cookies here. Each cookie ranges from $8.50-$15 (depending on intricacy and size).
I love all the pop culture references. Want to take a bite out of Trump or baby Yoda? Then come here. They have soooo many different cookies to choose from.
I ended up getting the Go shawty $12 (Fifty cent), Dino mite $12 (trex) and Fight for your rights $12 (RBG) cookies. I also ordered a couple of their regular cookies since they smelled so good at the store. I got the Deluxe Chocolate Chip $5 and a Rainbow Crumbfetti $5 cookies.
They also sell custom portrait cookies for gifting, parties or just a splurge. I can guarantee these face cookies will be a hit to whoever you gift it to. Not only are they fun and hilarious but they taste pretty good too.
You are probably wondering why I didn’t give them 5 stars. I realized when I got home that I was missing two cookies from my bag. They forgot to give me the chocolate chip and rainbow crumbfetti cookies. Normally, I double check my items before I leave a store, but I did not with this one because they put a big ole sticker on the bag. I did not want to break the sticker to open the bag until I got home. Such a bummer since I was really looking forward to eating them. Oh well. I’m sure it was an honest mistake and I’ll probably come back to try their other cookies. I’ll just make sure to check my items before leaving.
Edit: Funny Face Bakery nicely offered to send me the cookies after checking my bill and confirming I wasn't charged for them. What great...
