Went on the 4th of July Industry Kitchen event. Single worst experience at a restaurant and Ive been to some rough ones over the years. Spent $1.8k for 4 of us. My daughters first time visiting New York and wanted to do something extra special for them. First there was supposed to be "open bar and buffet " but then there was no buffet and bar was extremely overwhelmed. Like there was no way they had near enough people tending bar, serving or cooking. Cheap food (hotdogs, sliders, potato salid, cole slaw, watermelon) brought to you dry and cold. Watered down Cheap and extremely small drinks that took 30 minutes so that you were constantly looking for your overwhelmed server. Billed as 630pm to 930pm but because of massive disorganization, didn't get in until after 730pm. So wait staff didn't know what tables were who's. There was no one helping the staff stay organized. The managers were dealing with so many pissed off people they couldn't help with the chaos. People were furious all over the place. Loosing their minds because they paid all this money for this major disappointment. It wasn't the wait staff fault. They were way over sold the venue and way under staffed it. The only redemption was the Macys fireworks show. The way it was marketed was a major bait and switch. Last thing. You pay for tickets. OK. Then you arive and then they hit you with a 28% "tip" before you walk through the door. Crazy. These guys definitely knew to get their non refundable money up front because they knew people wouldn't pay even a 10th for what they got. Paid for pictures at the event and never got them. I had planned this special for my family. It embarrassed me. ...
Read moreWe had high expectations but ended up disappointed. The restaurant marketed itself during the US Open season as having US Open watch party, and that's why we booked seats in the first place--we wanted to watch tennis with nice vibe. Unfortunately, we didn't really have a chance to enjoy US Open at the bar.
Impossible to enjoy the match because seats far away from TV screens. Because we wanted to enjoy our food while enjoying tennis match, we were specifically instructed to book bar (as opposed to table) seats so that we could be closer to the TV screens. And we indeed booked bar seats. Unfortunately, when we got there, we were seated at a far, far away table because the bar area closer to TV sets had been reserved and closed for a corporate event where nobody was interested in tennis.
Waiter had a special preference for the order of ordering. My understanding is that, when there is more than one guests, usually the waiter/waitress would first ask Guest A what he/she would like to order (appetizer, main dish, dessert, etc.). Then after Guest A finishes, the waiter would go to Guest B, and then Guest C, and there you go.
However, our waiter has his preference for ordering. After my friend told the waiter that he wanted this appetizer and that main dish, the waiter told him to stop. The waiter insisted that all of us order appetizers first, then all of us order main dish, etc. I guess this way it is more convenient for him to input everything on his device, but my friends and I were a little surprised when the waiter interrupted us.
Kudos to the same waiter who was more friendly than ever when he brought us POS Terminal! (20% tip is...
Read moreI’ll start by saying the server was nice to us. My friend and I went in for a lunch and we were quickly seated. We were told we’d be brought water and we waited 15 minutes before asking the server again for our water. She said it would be here soon. The whole time we dined, the water never arrived. Then the server made some modifications to their margaritas for us but neglected to mention the extra costs before doing so. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer for the table. It arrived with bread and our Pepsis served in a thin glass (finished it really quick). The bread was honestly really hard but the mussels were good. We expected the rest of the food to be good but little did we know. Our entrees arrived & we both had gotten the pan seared chicken and it was truly nauseating. It seemed like it was microwaved or just prepared lousily… The presentation was not aesthetically pleasing either. The smell was truly off putting. My friend and I could barely stomach the three bites we took. Because we barely even touched our plates, we asked the server if they could kindly take the entrees off our check. The server said she would ask her manager and they did end up taking it off of our check. We waited at least another 15 minutes for our check to arrive tho. The service was just unbelievably slow, and the food was ridiculously overpriced. For one appetizer of mussels, two margaritas, and two Pepsis we paid $90 roughly. This is NOT worth it and I would not recommend wasting your time here. The only thing nice is the view but it truly is not worth your money. Save your time, energy, and money and eat...
