This evening, I ordered a Sicilian pizza from George's Pizza on the Slice app. The pizza came right away as it usually does. I took a bite and noticed a sour smell. I took another bite, and the smell was still there. I then cut off the crust and ate that; it tasted just fine. I then tried a piece of cheese, which tasted fine. There's something wrong with the sauce or the bread that makes it inedible. There is a strong sour smell; maybe they left the sauce or dough out too long, and it went bad. This is what George's Pizza sent to me.
I used the Slice app to complain about the pizza, and the response that was relayed back to me in the Slice chat from George's Pizza was that there is nothing wrong with the pizza. They said it was prepared normally, and there is no refund. This is simply bad customer service. I've been a loyal customer of George's Pizza for many years, and they even got me through the pandemic! There are a lot of pizza places nearby. They will get my business in the future, not George's Pizza. Tonight's pizza is in the trash can.
I deleted the Slice app when it wouldn't let me download the chat conversation. Other food order apps can order pizza and have much better customer service when...
Read moreWas a regular till today. Through grub hub, I ordered 2 slices plus other things. When the food arrived only got one slice. Called the place, Apparently I didn’t order the two slices together, instead did it separately, yet on the same order. (makes no sense). The guy on the phone said it was my fault they didn’t notice. When I asked if It can be delivered since I obviously paid for two slices, he said the delivery guy would not make a delivery for a single slice. On top of that he refused to give me a refund. Don’t even care for the two dollars, just the fact that he wants to blame his mistake on me. So much for customer service. Like I said , was a regular and so are many of my friends and family who live in the area. After I told everyone, they’re refusing to eat...
Read moreHow the mighty have fallen. What had once been one of New York City's most elegant and beautiful restaurants, with amazing food, is not even a shadow of its former self. Yes, the decor is still handsome, but nowhere near what it was in its heyday. More a well-appointed mausoleum than anything else. The service was all right, but the food quite awful. The smoked salmon was dry and flavorless, the lamb only adequate, and the Beef Stroganoff (which, whatever it was, wasn't Beef Stroganoff) this side of inedible. Adding insult to that inedibility were the prices. Outrageously expensive. The Russian Tea Room completely lost its way a good quarter of a century ago and has long lost any reason for being. I'm awarding two stars only for old time's sake. Very sad....
