Golden Star — Restaurant in New York

Golden Star is an absolute gem! I’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. It’s a family-owned business, and you really feel that when you walk in — they treat everyone like family. Rich, the manager, always brings great energy, and the entire staff is so warm and welcoming. The restaurant is always spotless, and the vibe is just as great as the food.

The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. I’d highly recommend the chicharrón de pollo and the shrimp fried rice — both are packed with flavor. Their sushi is also incredible — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

Every time I eat here, it brings back great memories, and the food always leaves me feeling good and satisfied. It’s not just delicious — it has that healthy, home-cooked feel that’s hard to find.

I placed an order on GrubHub delivery time was 7:50-8:00 during the wait I had a meeting for work, I work from home. At 8:00 I start wondering where my food is that’s when I noticed at 7:30 I had missed call that the delivery person was downstairs. I texted them they said they would redeliver I said fine. Then they proceed to ask why I didn’t answer the door they had knocked I told them no, no one ever knocked on my door and if they did why they didn’t leave the did. He said yes they were there were you too drunk? I found that extremely unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. That is no way to run a business. Thankfully GrubHub refunded my money. I don’t even know how to rate this place,first off the man was kind of rude over the phone. My food was really good but my husbands food was horrible,I thought he was exaggerating but I tasted it and didn’t like it.I guess you just have to be careful with what you order.
