I reviewed this place a couple of weeks ago and gave it 3 stars based on their great bagels, but poor service; review is below.
They replied and asked me to contact their email because they wanted to me to come back and give them another try.
I sent them 3 emails over 2 weeks but never got any response so clearly, their reply to my review was all talk.
Pretty disappointing, but I'll be taking my business to Tompkins Square Bagels on 68th and 3rd. Recently changed owners and the changes haven't been positive. Bagels are still great, but prices are up and service now comes with a serious attitude.
Price for a single bagel used to be $1.85 and is now $2.72, a 50% increase.
What's even worse is the service. I ordered an everything bagel and the guy behind the counter asks me if I wanted it toasted.
No. Their bagels are fresh so I don't need it toasted.
Do I want cream cheese?
No. I have leftover cream cheese at home that I need to use up.
Do I want a drink?
No. I make my own coffee.
So he gives me this long, sarcastic look as if I'm doing something wrong.
Anyway, not what I need on a Sunday morning at 7 AM.
Tompkins Square Bagels recently opened nearby so I'll be taking my business there from now on. It's a slightly longer walk, but their bagels are cheaper and the service doesn't come with...
Read morequite expensive for how it's made. this literally ruined my breakfast. I asked for toasted with butter and LIGHT cream cheese. this looks gross.. 1 outta 10.. it was a 7 dollar bagel its unacceptable. at a certain price point, I expect excellence. I critique overpriced food to the tee. 7 dollars for this over saturated bagel is not good. experienced bagel makers have butter dripping down and don't know to add butter and toast a bagel. they toasted it. put cream cheese and then added liquid butter. mind you they charge about 1.50 for butter and don't properly add it. I showed the old man and he laughed. I guess it's normal for a cheese cake and bottle of liquid butter to be added to every bagel. that might work for marketing pics , but in real life. it's gross. most of these bagel places are gross to be honest. nothing like a good...
Read moreI first found this yummy spot when it was called Bagel Point. Tried to find it on the map, and it was showing permanently closed. However, today, Go Bagels showed up in its place and offers the same delightful menu! I got the vegan egg and cheese on a pumpernickel everything bagel. I was surprised with how yummy it was. I have been trying to eat plant based as much as possible, and this really hit the spot! I'm so grateful that this bagel shop opened here because it is right near where I'm getting chemo treatment, and bagels are some of the only foods that actually agree with me right now. Good luck, Go Bagels! I hope you find success and stick around for...
