We used to go to Greca quite often last year, the location is quiet and clean. The food is fine if you want a quick healthy snack and I really like their gluten free egg custard for dessert. The first reason why we stopped going is the prices, not that we cannot afford it but charging a bagel with eggs and cheese (to go) for $18 is really too high. The other reason is the quality of the service, the greek lady with glasses working at the counter who has an attitude problem. She serves you as if she is doing you a favor. Also last time we went there, it was in the morning at 8 am and we invited a homless young man to pick something from their menu. The young man was polite, he did not enter the restaurant, to be respectful of COVID and to avoid comments. He patiently waited outside for more than 30 minutes for his plate to be handed to him. Needless to say that the greek lady was not happy...not sure why. In the meantime we sat at a table outside to have breakfast, she took her break and was sitting behing us and decided to have a go at one of the waiters, which I also thought was disrespectful of us, her clients. Finally when we finished breakfast and were about to go, she asked us to take our plates to the garbage bin inside the restaurant...which we did although it is a restaurant with waiters and we were paying and tipping for service... Her husband or brother has a better sense for service but overall... The value for the service and type of food is not...
Read moreHands down the best Greek food I can remember having, and a delightful dining experience. We shared food around the table, and everyone in our party was happy. The spreads were complex and delicious. I got a salad with lovely fresh ingredients and subtle flavors, and the spanakopita was just perfect: not too greasy, crispy filo, nicely blended subtle flavors. We didn't intend to order dessert, but after the entrees, we had to try their take on the baklava. It was fantastic and not too sweet. (The greek coffee was also a favorite).
We were served by the co-owner, who was helpful and friendly. She told us the she runs the restaurant with her brother, and all the recipes are passed down from their grandmother. Also, having previously worked at restaurants, I always look at the floors because it speaks to how clean the kitchen is. The floor was spotless, even in the corners. You can tell they run a tight ship. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreOur party of 4 ordered food wise 8 things and everything was delicious and incredible. Me having picked the place was especially glad to hear my two non-foodie friends saying "I saved this restaurant and I never do that" "best brownie I've had" etc. They also had the ouzo which was smooth and nice. I had the Greek coffee which was good too.
Food wise, my personal favorite were the Santorini salad (amazing flavor for the dressing), portobello gyro and Ikaria bowl. All were packed with variety of flavors. I do wish the Ikaria bowl could have more veggies though. The warm manouri cheese was popular among us and my husband's favorite. I loved the tahini brownie with strong halva flavor. Just wish they make dessert without refined sugar.
Service was fast and super friendly. Environment was relaxed and cozy.
I'm coming back for brunch in 2 weeks with friends so am looking...
