First time with a full body Korean body scrub. They will give you a disposable thong, a bathrobe and plastic waterproof slippers to change into. There's a very small locker room where you can lock up all your personal belongings and you keep the key on your wrist. We were then taken to the basement where the scrub room was located. I went with a girlfriend, we shared the wet room but there were shower curtains dividing the room. Big huge water barrels with running warm water on each side of the waterproof bed, you lay down, face up, your body will be covered with towels, then the Korean lady started pouring buckets and buckets of very warm water all over your body, feels a bit too warm but after a few minutes my body got used to the temp. She started scrubbing part by part of my body, she wore a special hand mittens with some kind of LUX body wash which was so old school and the scent was very familiar from my childhood time. I wish the product is a bit better than this. She scrubbed and scrubbed every inch of my body and the eye opening result of tons and tons of dead skins all over the body and the bed, it was almost embarrassing seeing that I was so full of dead skin cells. After scrubbing, she uses her bare hands and wash everywhere with the same body wash with slight massage stroke. Body was flipped front and back once, then the hair gets washed but no conditioner, just a good wash with scalp massage. Then you get to stand up, she will remove all the residual of dead skin clinging around with a hand held shower, took the disposable panty of, and start showering the body with arms up. Not much conversation but some serious deep body cleaning. My skin felt very clean and soft to touch for sure. Definitely 5 stars for Michelle my scrub lady. Then we head up to the massage room, we were in individual room, I do massages often but not at this place. Unfortunately, the massage was just mediocre, the masseuse didn't even ask me once if the pressure was okay, she was basically just slightly pressing and touching but not really a massage that can ease and relief any ache or pain. I booked online, process was very easing and a confirmation email sent close to the date. In the day, the place was really easy to find After a short wait, you are taken to the back and down a spiral flight of stairs (unsure if other access options, possible accessibility issues if mobility is a challenge) and led to the change room. You are given disposable underwear (I wore my own gstring, just be sure to bring a dry pair to change into if you do that), a robe, shower cap and rubber slippers and your personal belongings can be stored in a locker. You’re then taken to a room across the hall, a fully tiled wet room with an opaque curtain diving it into two treatment areas. You’re asked to take off the robe and slippers, and lie back on a massage table covered in plastic. You are then covered in hot, wet towels and the treatment begins. The scrubbing is intensely satisfying, no spot of skin was left unscrubbed by these mitts - it was the most through treatment I’ve ever had! Between the scrubbing, you’re regular getting bowls of hot water splashed over you. It does feel too hot at times, it certainly did sting a little when poured on the raw/ freshly scrubbed skin but nothing too unpleasant. You flip onto your stomach and it continues. At the end, a body wash/ moisturising product is gently applied using massage stokes. Then at the end, a handheld shower head was used to rinse me off - first laying on the bed, then you stand up and are rinsed off very thoroughly. You are then towel dried, and guided back to the change room. If you’re not familiar with Korean treatments - is worth noting that your chest is intermittently exposed during the scrub and then your whole body entirely during the rinse off, so be aware of not comfortable with that. Best experience of my life! I got the Korean body scrub + massage + facial package for my birthday and it was the most relaxing day of my entire life. The entire staff is so welcoming and the environment was so relaxing. There wasn't even music playing but the ambience just radiated peace it's unbelievable! Everything is so clean and well maintained, you could very well eat from the floors. The body scrub was 1000/10! The sweetest lady took care of me and was very thorough with the scrub that the results were impeccable! I'VE NEVER BEEN SMOOTHER! I've had keratosis pilaris my entire life and the scrub gave me the same results of months using salicylic acid creams. She went over every area twice and just when I thought that was it, nope, she gives me a wash and salt/sugar scrub. She even gave me a mini foot scrub too! The best part is I never felt body conscious or insecure. It reminded me of when you go to Grandma's house and she gave you a life changing bath. I enjoyed every single minute. When that was over (unfortunately 😭) she led me to a sauna, offered me water and let me know that someone would get me for the massage. It wasn't even a 5 minute wait before it was massage time. This absolute sweetheart (I wish I remembered her name🥲) asked me my massage preferences for hardness/softness and honestly after that everything was a blur. I was in and out of sleep. I do remember the hot stones and the warm oil because that was what knocked me out. When that was finished, I was led to get my facial with the lovely Helen. The facial had a skin analysis, steam, high frequency and a whole bunch of cool treatments I didn't even know was included. She did some extractions as well that was so expertly done I didn't even know she was finished. I again fell asleep during the facial but you would too if you experienced Helen's gentleness and care.
