Omg the food is soooo delicious here at Iliana's! Dined in with my family so we ordered alot of food to celebrate my sis, the birthday girl. We didn't know what to expect at all because this place is new as we only discovered it on Instagram.
Menu: The portion size of the appetizer plate of Griot (Pork) is definitely enough and it's Griot cuts are juicy, well marinated, tasted clean, not fried hard, not salty yet seasoned. The Griot's tasty fried brown crisp is perfection! Def a winner and I'm craving it as I write this lol!
The Tassot (Goat) appetizer was equally as excellent as the Griot in every way but the Tassot is served with a colorful pikliz salad which was garnished in a artful fashion, it was super delicious and is equally my fave. I was honestly sucking on a few cleaned out Tassot bones to savor it's embedded marinated flavors. Can't wait to order that again!
The Mac and cheese, was cheesy and super gooey. This pasta dish was perfectly baked, I'm coming back for more of that!!!!!
The Stewed Chicken was saucy and flavorful, it's finger looking good, moist chicken. It's sauteed skin melts in your mouth. Chef's kiss! Can't beat that!
My table also ordered the appetizer Sweet Chili Wings, it had a mildly sweet tasting sauce, topped with a few shredded green onions. Sooo goood!
My table ordered wayyy more food but those 5 dishes I tried were my absolute favs and standouts of the night! I can't stop thinking of these 5 items so I'm already planning to come back 2x this week with my spouse and we live in Long Island, it's worth the drive down to Queens. I already raved to him about these 5 dishes lol. I look forward to trying the Red Snapper and Turkey in the very near future.
Drinks: We had the various Frescas drinks and everyone enjoyed all the different flavors they ordered. No complaints at all there. We had 2nd and 3rd rounds.
This Haitian Restaurant is definitely my go to from here on! Service was excellent, professional, courteous and very accommodating. We watched the Knicks game on their TVs which was to our delight and so was the music. They played Konpa, Soca, Reggae, Afrobeats and American pop music. Food so good it had us singing and enjoyably swaying to the music with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the honor yesterday to celebrate my 61st birthday at Llianaās Bar and Lounge. And after relocating from Florida my husband whoās Haitian and Iām trini was looking for a very good sit down Haitian restaurant and I decided to try Llianaās since the reviews were very good and we did want Haitian food that taste like American food . So the The Verdict is in . From the time you walked in we were greeted with a welcoming smile and seated. I ordered the spicy margarita for my birthday drink it was delicious, for dinner I had the Poison En Sauce ( fried red snapper in sauce)and the black rice, my husband had the Legume with meat of his choice with white rice and beans, my daughter had the Griot ( fried pork) sauce on the side with rice and peas, my son had the Chimichurri vegan burger either fries. We dug rite in do no pictures of our dishes but let me tell you the presentation was beautiful and the Haitian dishes stayed true to themselves šÆ. Everyone of us was very impressed and satisfied we were so full that we didnāt order dessert but the staff took it upon themselves to surprise me with a chocolate lava cakes dessert with the Haitian birthday song in the background along with them blowing whistles clapping like a real celebration. It was so beautiful. I was surprised and overwhelmed at the same time. It was the most beautiful thing I experienced. I really had a great great time over here and I highly recommend recommend them 100% in more.. they are a small intimate restaurant and bar and I will be coming back here even though the parking is tough but itās worth it even my kids said it. Theyāre willing to walk park anywhere and walk. We were lucky enough to find a park right in front of it, but they had to park a block away , but itās worth it guys once u experience the hospitality like us , will be going back . You will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI know Ilianaās is labeled as a ābarā on google š¤·āāļø but itās so much MORE than THAT! Itās a full blown RESTAURANT with so much variety. This was my first time here. I definitely came for the Haitian šš¹ food. Sak pasĆ©!!! š The owner was super friendly & warm. I love her story!! She was generous with her time and told me how she got started. So much passion behind what she does & how she does it.
Now for the FOOD š„ ⦠BON BAGAY NET!!! Really amazing experience. I tried several different things, but my favorites were: The griot with diri blanc & sos pwa! It was served with plenty of pikliz right on top of the griot. Just the way I like it! I was in the mood for some greens, fruit & veggies (Summer āļø is coming šāāļø!!) so I went for the mango-avocado salad. š„ BLEW MY MIND!!! NO regrets there AT ALL. Both the mango & avocado were perfectly ripe. The portion was sizable. Very very refreshing dish. I was looking for one more thing on the menu that I wouldnāt typically find at a Haitian restaurant š¤ so I went for the Yucca fries. ššš KNOCKED MY SOCKD OFF!! So hot & FRESHHHH. It was UNIQUE & delicious.
Next time Iāll try the LEGUME! Happy to have a beautiful & spacious place like this serving HAITIAN CUISINE!...
