Sabor Restaurant & Bakery — Restaurant in New York

I’m super disappointed making this review. I really did like this place however this is the 2nd time my family and I had terrible service and unsanitary food. My aunt went here at night to El sabor. Ordered the beef stew “estofado de carne”. It came rotten and smelled horrible. We told the workers to smell and even the manager. The manger per usual was playing cards nonchalantly but BOTH were aware it was rotten and even said it was rotten. The only thing my aunt ate was the rice and plantains that came with it. We go up to the counter to pay for my food that I ordered which was the pernil yet they charged us still for their mistake and DISGUSTING rotten meat. Crazy! The lady that worked there said she’ll not charge us for the “containers” for my food. How ridiculous and unprofessional. I won’t be coming here again and will be contacting the FSIS to see what’s going on in this place. I’m super disappointed and enraged to have this experience. Unprofessional and Unsanitary...

My first time trying this restaurant.. I ordered through GrubHub.. I ordered the combo family meal with the whole chicken, rice and beans and salad.. also a chicken empanada.: I ordered a Sprite, but they told me they were out of it so I ordered a Coca-Cola… The food came on time BUT The chicken came whole, not even cut up. It was red on the inside. As much as I hate giving food reviews, I would never order from here again! Maybe it was late when I ordered, but everything was so nasty. I had to throw everything in the garbage… I regret my order for $30 Which I was supposed to enjoy with my familySMH .. Not worth the money at all.. Please cook at home if you can.. Do not waste money at this restaurant! Also, the empanada that I ordered did not taste like chicken.. I don’t know what it was, but I did not like it.. I wish I could get a refund, but I rather continue to write this and get my money back because I don’t want anybody else to waste their money...

My family and I have been loyal customers at Sabor for a couple of years now. The food used to be really good, but sadly the quality has gone extremely downhill. We oftentimes get food that appears to be several days old. Today we received an order of yuca, and the pieces were brown all over and hard. Clearly it wasn’t edible, so it went in the trash. The meat is burnt, the pork rinds are rock hard. Not to mention that we had an incident in which the credit card we used to pay was charged twice. I really wouldn’t recommend this place anymore to anyone. The employees went from being kind to rude. Definitely needs...
