Sadly one of the worst breakfast spots I’ve ever been to in Bedstuy. The service was awful, I waited 15 minutes for watered down orange juice that was advertised as fresh even though I was the only one at the spot. I was really warm inside and asked them to turn the AC on and I thought they would as I was the only one in the store but they refused. The smoked salmon sandwich came out with untoasted bread so the whole experience of eating it was not fun. I asked them why it wasn’t toasted and their response was “we make it here” so there’s obviously a language barrier which was frustrating. I was starving so I ate it anyway. The salad was really good though so I’ll give them that. Also barely any outlets in the wall if you want to sit and work, the vibe is overall bare and not cozy. Wouldn’t recommend coming if you want to work in a...

Cashier/server was sick, sneezing & bringing out food. Pancakes, bacon & eggs good, warm but doughy. Pancakes are more mushy than crispy, so think muffin soft texture. I prefer crispiness to it. Asked for fried over hard egg. It was runny and didn’t like it. Bacon is beef for the win. Could be on stove, could be microwaved. Idk. It’s good for the price, and filling. I didn’t finish meal but also think my breakfast appetite aspirations are shot for the day.

Shop is clean. They are attentive & communicative but sometimes laser focused on what they’re doing, instead of ppl in line.

Also got an iced dirty chai, not pictured. Very tasty and strong, I couldn’t finish the smallest size- which is medium sized. It’s a dollar more ($1) for iced vs hot. Paid about $8ish total including tax for coffee. It was very chilled...

Stopped by on their opening day. I was impressed with the attentio to detail. Every table is equipped with 2 outlets that are by your head so no more searching nor sharing. To top it off they have usb ports as well. Most coffee shops barely have outlets and they are in randomly located spaces and never usb ports. There is wifi for customers so definetly very laptop/ remote worker friendly. The staff was super helpful. The menu was a typical cafe plus breakfast options. Which is much needed in the area for us laptop workers. I had a Golden Chai with Oat milk that was a good flavor with a nice froth. The spacing wasnt cramped this stroller friendly. Nice selection of pastries. Also the hours are great 8am to 7pm everyday of the week. Score for the...

$14.99 for TWO empanadas (because $15.00 would scare us?), $19.95 a QUINOA bowl (for the same reason) or a $6 chocolate croissant is OUTRAGEOUS. I get people will say rent in NYC is high but don’t forget you add service and tax on top of prices which are already unjustifiably high is just gouging and is purely artificial. It’s making my neighborhood unaffordable for most. It’s just greed, let’s acknowledge that. Those new businesses should keep in mind that real people live the area, not just executives or tourists. Also their ventilation system is inexistant which has me smell like bacon even after buying just one coffee. As a result, I’m not coming back ever and would like you to consider whether this is the right spot for you.

Sunday morning 8am. Lovely espresso barista Chloe prepared my order. Cortado with a touch of chai and hybrid combination of unsweetened almond as well as oat milk. My daughter had iced chai latte with whole milk. We loved our drinks. The well thought out bench area outside means plenty of space and choices how one wishes to unwind with cuppa in hand. It’s obvious how much potential Ivy Cafe has to become the go-to venue for Bed-Stuy charm, chat and company. Brunch menu is extensive and exciting. Check out delicious pastries and confections sourced from leading bakeries in NYC too. We devored our croissants. You will be enveloped by beautiful tree-lined brownstone architecture and Brooklyn’s cheeky, romantic vibe.
