$5 for 15 handmade pork dumplings?!? 15 of them thangs!? Inflation getting beat pillar to post. OHHHHHHHHH INFLATION IS HURT!!!! These are 15 huge dumplings too, the bang for your buck here boggles my mind. For a brief second, I thought I was in 2004.
I thought the 15 dumplings would be microscopic, so I also got 10 steamed pork buns for $5. I can't get over how big of a portion size these were. So much bang for your buck it's stupid.
You walk up to this cash only hole in the wall restaurant with no seating, order with the cute Chinese lady at the front while the dude in the back is hand making the dumplings in the back, and get your food in about 5 minutes. There is 1 bottle of sriracha and 1 bottle of soy sauce on the outdoor table for you to apply accordingly. So much grit in here.
The fried pork dumplings came PIPING hot, and were honestly a solid 8/10 for me. The pork is juicy and they aren't overly fried. More like a flash fry than a deep fry.
The steamed pork buns were a 7/10, as the dough to pork ratio was a little too much for my personal taste, but still so worth it. Will probably just get 30 dumplings when I make my return trip.
I can EAT with the best of them, but between lunch and dinner I still couldn't finish all of these. There are still 2 pork buns in my fridge, waiting for a date with my air fryer when I get home.
Jin Mei Dumplings is easily making my all-inflation buster 1st team and might just be the odds on betting favorite for the MVP...

Read moreIf you’re looking for top-quality dumplings at an affordable price, Jin Mei Dumpling in Chinatown is a must-try! My husband and I are food lovers, and this spot exceeded our expectations. The fried dumplings had a satisfyingly thick dough, different from the typical corner-store variety, and were filled with juicy, perfectly seasoned meat. We couldn’t stop eating; each one was hot, crispy, and bursting with flavor. The generous portion size (about 15 dumplings) makes it easy to share, though you might want them all to yourself!
We also tried the sesame pancakes with beef, and they were heavenly. The pancake was soft and moist inside, stuffed with tender, flavorful beef chunks and scallions. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for seconds! For anyone seeking an unforgettable food experience, I highly recommend Jin Mei Dumpling—it’s like a warm hug for your taste buds. We’ll definitely...
Read moreOk, $5 for steamed or fried dumplings is crazy. This is a hold in the wall restaurant. I wouldn't even call it a restaurant. Maybe just a kitchen when you can pick up food. You cant even go pass the front door. You just stand at the door and order. An elderly women takes the order at the table which is blocking the door then walks back to to fill your order. We ordered one of each. Once we got back to the car and opened one of them, happened to be the fried dumplings, she gave 15 or 16 of them! For real???? For $5? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Now the taste, wow! It was so delicious, crunchy outside but filling inside! One of the best dumplings that I've had! So good that I forgot the take pictures before I even realized that we finished all of them! Steam was also so delicious! Nothing compares to those expensive dumplings you get at a fancy restaurants. I would love to go back next time I go...
