Supposedly best pizza in NY? Maybe it was in the past, but not my recent experience. See pictures and decide for yourself. Thin burnt crust and barely enough cheese to call it pizza. Service? Horrible. Everyone waits starving and waits another 30 minutes plus, so of course they are going to devour it or anything semi-edible. I called to order and they said they can only take orders for pies and would be 10 minutes instead of waiting on line for 20 minutes. After ordering, the guy changes his tone and said better if I come in to order. I said I preferred whatever is quicker and to order a pie, but the guy said we dont take payments over the phone?! I said I was outside the store at that point so when it is ready I can pay and pick it up. He said go straight to front of line if ordering a pie. Story over? Nope, I came into the store, went to front of line and they thought I made this story up. I tried showing that I called (see screenshot showing almost 4 minute call and that it took 40 minutes to get the darn pizza). The guy said it will only take 15 minutes, so I ordered a pie and watched at least 12 people pick up their orders even though they came after me! After 20 minutes and watching orders get filled, I asked the guy if maybe he forgot or if there is a pie I can take. The guy responds it takes time to make another pie, relax. What?! I called him out on his blurted response - you gave away my pie, filled a dozen take out orders after me, and won't offer me the next pie that is ready? Not even close... had to wait 40 minutes to get very mediocre pizza with scant sauce, dough and cheese that was burnt. The guy should have given it a look to see if he stands behind the pizza, but he just hands out closed boxes of pizza without any quality checking, the just churn out pies to the tourists who dont care since they are visiting and dont know what NY pizza should taste like. Please learn from my review and improve both the service and quality pizza that everyone is waiting and paying for, especially because you have the popularity and purchases coming, now deliver...
Read moreJoe’s Pizza is a very popular and well-known restaurant in New York City. Although the place is really not bad, it cannot be called unsurpassed. However, if you are in New York, you should visit this place at least once to try the insanely famous pizza slices.
The pizzeria is very popular, especially because of its location on Broadway. Given this, in the evening, you need to be prepared for a long line - during our visit, it stretched for an entire street to the next intersection, moving at an average speed.
It was very cozy inside, with a really cool atmosphere. Despite the large number of visitors, we even managed to find a seat and enjoy the pizza inside. We ordered three different slices of pizza (pepperoni, regular cheese, and cheese with extra mozzarella), all of which were large and fresh. As for the taste, I can say that the pizza was standard tasty without any special features, but not the best you can find in New York. There are many lesser-known pizzerias on the streets where you can buy a similar pizza at a lower price, and it tastes and is identical in size. A nice bonus was the opportunity to add extra Parmesan or other spices for free.
To summarize, it is worth visiting Joe’s Pizza at least once while in New York, if only because of the incredible atmosphere of the place. However, I would not recommend wasting time waiting in line for a piece of pizza again, as the city offers many other places with a variety of...
Read moreIf you’re visiting New York City, Joe’s Pizza is one of those classic spots you just have to experience. The line will almost always be out the door, no matter what day or time you go. That’s just how it is, and honestly, it adds to the excitement. We got lucky and only had to wait about twenty minutes, which went by pretty fast thanks to the energy on the street and the people watching. The place itself is small and always crowded, but it has that no-nonsense, authentic New York vibe where everyone’s there for one reason, the pizza.
The staff runs like a well-oiled machine. They’re quick, efficient, and keep the line moving. You can tell they’ve been doing this a long time. The second you order, they’re pulling hot pies from the oven and handing out slices that are piping hot and fresh.
The pizza lives up to the reputation. The crust is thin but holds up perfectly, the sauce is tangy, and the cheese has that perfect melt and stretch. It’s simple, classic, and exactly what New York pizza should be. No fancy toppings, no gimmicks—just great pizza made right.
Eating at Joe’s felt like checking off a true New York experience. Between the energy of the crowd, the speed of the service, and the first bite of that hot slice, it all just worked. It’s easy to see why Joe’s Pizza is still one of the city’s most famous and...
