Starting with the amuse-bouche trio - king salmon "everything bagel", "smashburger" of otoro inside a choux bun, and A5 wagyu and Hokkaido uni toast - banger start! The caviar and mussels dish was unique, somehow light and rich, and super flavorful (tart, salty, sweet)! That mini pretzel croissant was also hot, buttery and oh-so-good. I don’t even like mustard and that spread was so on point. The fluke course with cucumber sorbet was light and refreshing paired with a cucumber&chamomile&mint aquavit cocktail was 20/10! Seared scallop was amazing as were the "shrimp and grits"! I am very allergic to crab and it was nicely accommodated by this salmon and rice course with this crispy cracker filled with furikake that you can crumble over the dish. This course was also great but incredibly filling. The sake granita palate cleanser set up the final main course which was actually one of the highlights of this meal for me. It was a squab and agnolotti dish and portion sizing may look small but it was actually perfect - the squab was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside with this amazing agnolotti. It's hard to find a good squab dish in the city and this was 20/10. The dessert course I believe was a take on banana bread pudding and as someone that doesn't enjoy bananas, this was really really good. Rounding this tasting menu out is the coconut mango shumai (mango fruit leather as the shumai skin with coconut ice cream on the inside) which was honestly that final perfect bite. Drinks were also really great and I recommend trying a...
Read moreOur recent dining experience at Joomak was truly one of the most memorable meals we’ve ever had, and we haven’t stopped raving about it since!
From the moment we stepped into the beautifully designed space, we knew we were in for something special. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy warmth, setting the stage for what became an extraordinary evening! Every member of the team was genuinely welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do—it was hospitality at its finest.
We chose the tasting menu with wine pairings, and every single course that came out was an absolute work of art, both visually and in flavor! Each dish was thoughtful, innovative, and perfectly balanced—showcasing not only the chef’s incredible talent but also the entire kitchen and service team’s dedication to excellence. We found ourselves completely captivated by the progression of flavors, textures, and creativity with each plate that arrived. The wine pairings were equally stunning and complemented the food beautifully, enhancing every bite and creating such a harmonious dining journey.
We could feel the care, effort, and artistry that went into every detail of the experience, and we left with that rare feeling of having been part of something truly special...!

Read moreWe recently dined at Joomak, and overall, it was a pleasant evening marked by exceptional service and an inviting atmosphere. The staff stood out as one of the restaurant's greatest strengths. Very attentive, friendly, and clearly committed to creating a welcoming experience. From the moment we arrived to the final goodbye, every interaction felt thoughtful and genuine.
The food itself was well-prepared and presented but they could add 2-3 courses to enhance the meal a bit more. While the menu was relatively limited, each course was executed with attention to detail and chef pours his heart into it. That said, the culinary creativity didn't quite extend to the wine pairing.
Unfortunately, the wine selection wasn’t a hit. The pairings, while of course drinkable, didn't elevate or complement the dishes. In some cases, they distracted from the flavors rather than enhancing them. For a restaurant that clearly aspires to a refined dining experience, this mismatch was a missed opportunity.
In summary, Joomak offers a lovely ambiance and top-tier service that makes you feel right at home. With some improvement in the wine program, it has the potential to go from a nice evening out to a truly memorable one. The restaurant is still fairly new and working out the kinks, and within time we do believe they can get where they want to be but we just cant give it that 4/5 star rating just yet but we’re...
