So I went in today in the afternoon looking fabulous with my makeup and beret.. to see whether they sell any sandwich..mind you, I'm just standing on the line and the light skinned cashier girl was sooo threatened by my non binary fabulousness she started giving me a hateful stare.. what a crazy woman! I was already hesitant to order anything.. her hateful energy standing by the white cashier guy was already making me uncomfortable... If you are so insecure and so jealous clearly you need some serious help lady! Mentally you are not ok! Thank God they ran out of sandwich..refuse to support a business where ppl like that works. God is good! I spoke to the Asian gentleman owner.. he was very kind and listened to my concern patiently... hence the 2 stars.. generally with the haters like her it starts with them getting jealous of non binary ppl and their fabulousness and they start hating on them and if it goes unchecked they act on it and turns violent and make this society unsafe for the non binary/transgender community.. hence forth i had to speak the owner about this! He said she is new.. doesn't excuse the fact it's just common human decency to not treat customers like that.. while I cannot force a nincompoop to respect the non binary community but they certainly not allowed to disrespect me either.. next time be ready for a discriminatory lawsuit with the nyc commission on human rights.. respect is non-negotiable! #transrightsmatter...

I always go for their matcha latte, and their matcha scone is the best. As I was nearby this morning, I went to grab something before work. When I got there, I saw there’s only one matcha scone left. I decided to get it and a piece of earl grey loaf. At the counter, I asked the staff, a middle-aged man wearing glasses (no offence), if this is the last scone available. He didn’t respond but just tapping on the check out tablet, showing my order “matcha scone x1”, he didn’t even ask if I had finished ordering. It feels weird totally. I continue to order pieces of brown sugar cookies and some other vegan baked goods, then he suddenly said “hold on! you are too fast…” Well I do think I put constant breathing between phrases and he should be able to catch my pace and words properly.
Anyway, what I’m saying is, the way he responded was definitely not a friendly way, I have a feeling like he didn’t care to answer my questions nor present basic respect to a customer.
I love their baked goods but this service, this guy… it’s such a big NO to me.
I better take a break from this cafe for the bad energy...
Read morekind personnel, elegant atmospher, delicious pastries. They have innovative ideas: a jap-American icy drink espresso w yuzu sparkling water and honey which i didn’t try but I am sure it fits well. So, maybe it’s me and my PICKINESS on specialty coffee, but my coffee tasted BURNT (basic error). I went to the counter to give it back and ask for a second try and it HAS BEEN DENIED: “I tasted this morning: it’s not burnt”. Not a good answer if you return your coffee. So I tasted it again: sip and drank water after: BURNT taste. It’s years I drink specialty coffee, years. I am italian and living in Milan I rather leave my coffee if it is not good. There is a lot of fuzziness around this TREND and people pay a fortune for low quality. It could be a tiny better service here-btw it’s not the personnel’s fault which i tipped it fully cause i know how hard it is; mind it’s how it is trained through the time, so please get this as a good critic!...
