I came here from LA and thought I had to try "NY style pizza". This is the third pizza place I have tried here in Manhattan and it's truly disappointing. I got the deep dish pizza with pepperoni, green bell peppers and mushrooms. This took me down $30!! $3.00 per ingredient. Pizza is not like that at all in LA. The place is a tiny not fancy kind of "hole in the wall" place but that's where New Yorkers kept telling me to go. I read great reviews and it was super close to the 48 Lex Hotel I was staying in so I tried it. Disappointed is an understatement here. The pizza is ridiculously thick even for a deep dish pizza. The crust is like an inch or more and I got it deep dish because my favorite part of a pizza is the crust. This crust was thick, dry, and flavorless like cardboard! :( The pepperoni was meh too. I have more than half the pizza left and I think I might throw it out or even better I'll pass it out to the homeless here! I couldn't stand another bite. It sucks because the guys working there seemed nice enough and I have seen many rude snobs in NY so far, but the food was just so bad. I had one other pizza here again for $30 at AperiTivo and I can say it was very decent. Fresh sliced Pepperoni was very flavorful and crust was decent as well as ingredients. I would go there instead of La Bellezza. :( I think New Yorkers have no clue what good pizza tastes like. I keep being steered towards these bland...
Read moreThe definition of real NY Pizza is this place! Everything on their menu that they serve is very yummy and made fresh daily with the highest quality ingredients. I am lucky that I work only one block away from here. I have also been their customer for 15 years now. My personal favorites are all their parmesan heroes which include the chicken, sausage and peppers, meatball and eggplant. I look forward to lent until Easter because every Wednesday and Friday, they serve a very tasty shrimp parmesan hero. It is so good that it is only available for a limited time and if you do not go early enough, they will run out. I went at 2PM once and walked out disappointed. It is that good! Not to mention, their pizza is awesome, of course. Usually my wife packs lunch for me everyday but once in a while, I will tell her that I want to eat out because I am craving this food and I gotta have it! The owner Frank and the whole La Bellezza staff are very friendly and are on the top of their game at all time just to give you the best tasting food. They treat you like family because they pride themselves in running this family business of theirs. I even dealt with Franks' brother and father who are both...
Read moreExtremely disappointing. Just because some dingaling on Barstool Gave it a decent review doesn’t mean it’s true. This place was tiny, barely any room to stand and the counter staff was just yelling at people to place their orders. I got a regular slice of pizza.($3.25) The sauce recipe needs serious work. It tasted like off brand Ellio’s. I will admit the pizza crust and bottom was nice and crispy which was great. But everything else about it sucked. It broke it half, the cheese was greasy. Being the fat glutinous idiot I am,I also got a chicken parm sub. ($11.50) Boy was thing terrible. Once again the sauce is a horrible excuse for Italian Ive ever had. Secondly the chicken, or lack there of on my hero. It was basically an entire piece of fried grizzle. Literal Paper thin meat. How could anyone rationalize buying it. I’d get more meat from a street cart for half the price. Overall, if your a Barstool fanatic which most there customers probably are. Assume they paid for that rating, and know barstool got played for even considering...
