The place was nicely appointed and very clean. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately as there were only 4 other diners in the place.. Being Father's Day I would have thought there would be more people there. My wife and daughter both had cocktails which they enjoyed- a strawberry daiquiri made with fresh strawberries and a Margarita with what tasted to me like a jalapeño tequila.... very nice. We started with the sampler appetizer which consisted of 4 tasty choices; meaty eggrolls, Chicken dumplings, spicy boneless buffalo nuggets with cucumber and celery spears and a pair of skewers (one chicken, one beef). For entrées , my wife and I shared the Father's Day sampler - 2 lamb lollipops, a few slices each of 2 cuts of beef. They were cooked to our designated doneness but we're served a bit under temperature. In addition, the beef was not as well trimmed as I would have liked as it had a bit more than a fair share of grizzle. My daughter had a ribeye which was a generous cut of beef cooked as she ordered it. On the side we had the garlic mashed potatoes and the mushrooms. Both tasted quite good. After all was saod an done- not the best meal ever but closer to the priciest. If I go back, and im not sure i will, it would to be for a steak and to be waited on by Jose. He was one of the highlights of the meal. Very attentive, very pleasant without being over so. Outside of the food experience there were 2 things that put a damper on the experience - firstly, the cook- I would say chef if he might have dressed like one. The cook, kept sitting at the back table in a dirty (what was once a white T-shirt ) and grungy pants. I am sure he is a very nice fellow and I wish him no ill will, but c'mon. This isn't Denny's, dress the part. Mingle with the guests, the venue is small and is begging for that personal touch. Secondly, somone started dragging furniture across the upstairs floor for what seemed like an eternity. Overall, I was with my loved ones on Father's Day and I was happy to there with them. Just wish the venue lived up to its full...
Read moreReally not sure how this place has even a 4.4 rating, especially in NYC when there are so many better Kosher places to choose from. Also let alone that this place was packed! From the moment you walk in it feels like an outdated, tacky 1980s establishment that is in major need of a makeover/renovation. Or at least the event space upstairs do, which was surprising given the website makes the restaurant look modern, which you only find on the main floor. Setting aside the interior decor, the food is mediocre at best. Came here on a business dinner with 10 colleagues recently and we are left very unsatisfied. 5 of us ordered the filet mignon (at $60+ a steak,)all requesting medium rare. 4 of us had to send ours back for being overcooked. The la brochette sampler is all fried food except for the chicken and beef skewers. Those were good and recommend. The wine selection was long and we did not spare on trying to find quality red and white options for the table. We even jumped up in price point hoping the next round of 2 bottles of red would be better and it was just meh. I understand Kosher wines have come a long way, but still TBD on those. We ordered one of each of the desserts for the table and the team was satisfied with the selection. However the waitstaff then brought another round, that we thought was ours, and started to eat. To then have the waitstaff come back in and say those were not for our table and took away half eaten desserts. We found this all incredibly funny and also ill mannered. Just charge us and leave them. Aside from the above the wait staff was good. Not overly attentive, but good. The general consensus of the group was the place felt like a overpriced bodega. If you have a coworker who can only eat Kosher, I suggest skipping this place and going to Wolf and Lamb or elsewhere in Midtown for a business/celebratory dinner in my opinion. If you are a foodie this is not your...
Read moreNot Recommended!! Let's start by saying that the prices are terribly expensive and the food does not justify it. There are so many options for excellent restaurants at a higher level and more reasonable prices (also kosher). And that's a good enough reason not to go into the restaurant. Second, the service was Extremely terrible- Disrespectful and rude. On the Internet it is pointed that the restaurant is open until 11pm. We called at 10 am to ask if we could arrive and were told to arrive at 10:30. We did arrive that time and Since the restaurant was already empty, we asked if it's ok for sure that we stay. (if not so we simply go to another restaurant). We were told that everything is fine and we sat down. The waiter was impatient . As soon as the dishes were served, the music was switched off and replaced by a tv news show (not really a pleasant atmosphere!). We ate really fast (About 15 minutes) during which the waiter walk back and forth close to the table and yawn loudly. Even before we finished our food, we were given the bill. This is not a service experience worth giving for a steak that costs $ 58 !!! We left the restaurant in shock at 11 (which is the time it says on the Internet that the restaurant is supposed to closed). It was better to tell us that they not accep more customers for today. The personal experience was disappointing but even if the service was good the food was not worth the money and there are other excellent kosher...
