Absolutely terrible experience. I booked Petite Village weeks in advance for my birthday party with 25 people. When we arrived, they only had seats ready for 16 guests, leaving nearly half of my friends stranded. My friends even had made an additional reservation for an extra table next to ours, but the restaurant gave away their table as soon as they got there.
The restaurant then tried setting up another table last-minute in a corner space that we had planned to use for presents, balloons, flowers, and photos. However, once again, another random group was seated there instead of us. This forced my friends to scramble to find another restaurant at 10 PM on a busy Saturday night, ruining our evening.
To make matters worse, I had to act as my own server—bringing drinks, handing out empty glasses, moving dishes around, and even rearranging tables myself. The staff was indifferent, distracted, unhelpful, and left us to fend for ourselves.
On top of all this, I was in serious pain because something got stuck in my eye. I was literally crying and had to run to the bathroom to fix it. Even though I repeatedly told the staff I needed a moment, they insisted on bringing out my cake anyway. They clearly didn't care about my discomfort at all.
I've never experienced such poor customer service and negligence. If you're planning something important, avoid Petite Village at all costs. They’ve shown they clearly can't handle reservations or basic hospitality.

Read moreWe accidentally stumbled upon Le Petit Village after another popular restaurant nearby wasn't able to accommodate us. What a happy accident that was! The restaurant is gorgeous - overgrown vines, a cozy fireplace, exposed brick. Cozy & intimate yet still elevated. The food - INCREDIBLE. We shared the foie gras, grilled octopus and baked camembert to start. For dinner - the branzino, steak au poivre & papperdelle. To finish, creme brulee, of course. The octopus, steak & papperdelle were truly the star dishes. I will be dreaming about the papperdelle until I can get back to NY! Finally, the service was truly outstanding! Perfect recommendations and our server even brought each of us a little tasting of one of the drinks I was deciding between so we could try it at the end of our meal. A lovely cap to an incredible experience. It was the perfect enchanting evening in the West Village and we all kept commenting about how this is what makes NY so special - there is some delightful surprise just waiting around every corner. You never know what you might find when you're least...
Read moreI have to say Le Petit Village is pretty darn great-it’s a few points shy of perfection, but I don’t think 4.9 is quite enough so I’m gonna give it a 5. If you don’t get anything else, get the baked Camembert, big as a hubcap, melty, gooey and savory sweet with rosemary honey, and something that you never see on a menu anywhere. (We took most of ours home because we also had the French onion soup, which was lovely.) For entrees we had the spring chicken and the whole Branzino (not really whole it’s totally deboned so yay) both delicious, and sweet tangy and decadent Crepes Suzette for dessert-again something you just don’t see anywhere. Our server Evelina was lovely and fun as was all the service. It’s kind of noisy, but it’s a trade-off for the glass front that looks out on what will soon be nice summertime outdoor seating. The mocktails are in a class by themselves as I’m sure the regular ones are too. My advice: scurry on down to this little gem before it catches on any more because soon you won’t be able to...
