I tried Lucy’s for the first time yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it! I really enjoyed several aspects of this establishment and they are as follows. They have a good vegan option! This is great as my girlfriend doesn’t eat meat and finding a good vegi option can be tricky. They have very high quality meats! This is typically my main gripe with pho restaurants. Some of the more affordable options really cut corners when it comes to the protein. So much so I often end up removing it from the dish itself. This couldn’t have been further from the case here! The brisket was absolutely delicious! Yes I know it’s not traditional, but it really was fantastic. It added a smoky full flavor to a beautifully rich broth for what can only be described as a wonderful dining experience :) Perhaps the least important considering how high the quality of food is. But it is still worth noting that the price is excellent! Very reasonable for the amount and, again, quality of ingredients.
Bottom line - if you are in the area for lunch, go here. If you live in the area, go here. If you like pho, make the trip, and go here. It’s an excellent restaurant, with great food at affordable prices! We will be...
Read moreI've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. It's pretty hard to find genuinely good pho or Vietnamese food in general in NYC (especially anywhere near Williamsburg) but Lucy's is a gem.
The pho is superb, super flavorful and the noodles are perfectly chewy (They also have a vegan option which is shockingly good, I would normally never recommend). But in my opinion the one dish you MUST try is the smoked brisket banh mi. From the outside, you'd never guess a humble little spot like this can pack so much flavor and umami into its brisket, but you'd be wrong. I bring my friends from out of town here to try it, that's how good it is.
Also I have to give love to the staff and owners here. Always super kind and welcoming. And last thing I'll say is that the Vietnamese coffee and black teas here are also super yummy (and they even have beer too for late night snacks). Such a huge fan of this spot and can't speak highly...
Read moreSecond time eating here, this time we ordered take out. I really do enjoy Vietnamese and having a vegan spot nearby is great. The tofu banh mi and tofu pho is delish as the tofu is marinated which makes it so much better! Took away half star (if only there were halves) because each time there has been little herbs and veggies for the pho and the banh mi. Normally you get a handful of herbs, another bunch of jalapeños, a ton of bean sprouts and a couple limes. Unfortunately they give very little which really changes the fullness and flavor. However they do offer hoisin and sriracha whether dine in or take out. The take out bag was really nice, a little too much for take out. Overall, definitely recommend and hope they offer more of the sides that make...
