I have ordered from this Blank Street location, as well as the locations in Soho NY many times. Today, I stopped in to pick up what I thought was a hot Aries Latte. When I got home, I realized it was a regular latte, so I was disappointed and wrote to Blank Street help. The email reply admonished me by saying "As a reminder for pick-up or in-store orders, we recommend trying your order before you leave so that you can let your barista know if something is incorrect, and we can remake it for you! "
Although I did receive a refund for the coffee drink, I was really mad that the customer service response seemed to indicate that I was at fault for the incorrectly prepared order. There are many choices for coffee in this city. I will not return to any Blank Street. I'm surprised this wasn't written in all caps, like a certain world leader who simply blames everyone else...
Read moreI had an experience in here today that had never happened to me in a coffee shop or restaurant. My sister, best friend, and I were grabbing coffees after my half marathon, and we were laughing in line, and the barista told us “lower your voices” in a very condescending and rude way. It’s a grab & go coffeeshop, and Gwen Stefani was blasting on the speakers as other people chatted (again, a half marathon just wrapped). My sister and I are pretty sensitive to loud noises, so I can be sure our laughter wasn’t obnoxious - even so, you can laugh in a coffee shop as long as you’re not directly and harmfully disturbing people. Anyways, one of the rudest things that’s happened to me. Also, my sister works full-time in the service industry, and she was...
Read moreAwful service, awful coffee. The baristas don’t even make the coffee, all they do is press a button. Why would you pay $5 for a glorified espresso machine? You’re better off going to a low-end chain, if not a true high-end shop. This business is a private equity backed tech startup meant to trick people into thinking they are supporting an independent coffee shop. It’s perverse, and like all these start ups the passion is not in the product. Cost-cutting and scaling as fast as possible is the only priority; do you want to support a business that aims to destroy all the quality coffee in your area, before it turns around and makes its product 10x worse once it dominates the market? Personally, I don’t, especially when it’s already subpar...
