If I could give negative stars, I would. I had such an awful experience at this location; I've tried to get in contact with the company and even emailed them my review in their 'survey' but they never got back to me. SO i figure social media is the best way to get their attention. My mom had flown in for the weekend, and my friends had come in to the city from CT to share the special day. Let's first say that I had obsessed over BHLDN before I was even engaged. I loved the fashion-forward but boho looks they have, and the elegant but modern approach to their designs (and prices are amazing).
Well, it was my first appointment of the day - and to say I was excited was an understatement. I arrived 10 minutes early, and was their first appointment of the day. They told me to wait in the sample room and my associate would meet me there. We all looked around at the dresses, chose a few I wanted to try, but after 15 minutes of waiting, the associate was no where to be found. I had to go back to the front and ask - they just simply replied 'she'll meet you there' with no sorry.
After another 5 minutes (10 minutes late to meeting me) she didnt apologize for being late and was weirdly un-enthusiastic about even meeting me. I chose a few gowns, she just grabbed them, and then we made our way down.
The dressing room is SUPER dark - not an ideal place to try on a dress. There is also NO seating but a small couch- so even 3 people was tight. They also don't offer water or refreshments, so please make sure to bring your own water. She would help me in the dress then leave while I talked to my friends. Then I would be ready to change again and she would be no where to be found. I then mentioned one dress to her and she quickly snapped 'that's sold out. We don't have anymore (no apology)' I said I saw it on the website this morning- and she said 'show me later'. So at the end of the appointment I showed her it online and she said 'oh we must have cut back into it' and said they didn't have a sample at the showroom but to come back another day (and what, fly my mom up again?). Also, shouldn't she have known this already? Shouldn't the company send some email of new arrivals to their associates then?
While I was waiting for her to write her information I saw another bride trying on a dress and I loved it! It was exactly what I was telling her I wanted (why didn't she bring it to me then?). I told he I wanted to try that on and she said "Oh, your out of time, next time I'll pull it for you". She didn't even pull ONE for me ever - I only tried simply the ones I picked while walking around the showroom waiting for her. Not only that, but it was 3 minutes before my appointment was supposed to be over and she was 10 minutes late to meeting me. I didn't even want to stay at that point, we all just wanted to leave.
Overall, you are better off just ordering the dresses you like and doing it at home. I also can't believe that no one has even tried to get back to me. Thank god I had other appointments lined up after that and found my dress at the best place ever - Everthine Bridal. I think this place is just too corporate to give you a...
Read moreI am now posting this on the website because no one from Bhldn has had the decency to reach out to me regarding my horribly disappointing experience that I let them know about.
I had an appointment booked at Fidi in the financial district and on the day of my appointment the AC broke and I was called to reschedule. I traveled from Kentucky to look at dresses in NY because my sister lives here and she got her dress at Bhldn Fidi so I was very excited for the experience.
Due to the AC being broken, I was rescheduled the same day 8/2/24 at the upper east side Anthropologie. We arrived at the appointment and we got to the bridal section of the store and were greeted with a stylist that was clearly annoyed to have to deal with us and “fit me in”. Not only did she make it clear we were inconveniencing her, she pried multiple times about why I needed my appointment rescheduled that same day even though I let them know I was only here for the weekend.
We got to where we looked at the dresses, and none of the dresses I had requested were pulled. I picked a few and once we picked five, the stylist let us know “we reached our limit” and didn’t even let us discuss or look at any more dresses for the duration of the appointment.
On our way to the fitting room, the stylist let me know that I would not have a full length mirror and that there were two other appointments during that time, again making me and my family feel as though we were the ones inconveniencing her and the store. Instead of letting me use the full length mirror in between another bride, I was in a hallway, completely disregarded.
It was really hard for me to watch the Bhldn staff treat the other brides wonderfully and exactly how I thought I would be treated. The only complements I got from a stylist was from the other two working who I had to move out of the way for multiple times since I was in the hallway. They were gracious and kind to me nonetheless, unlike the stylist I was working with.
As I tried the dresses on I felt very rushed. I tried on all 5 dresses in 15 minutes and we were done and out of the fitting room and the store in around 45 minutes, even though the appointment should be an hour.
She also told me in store that I would be able to get a 20% discount for the inconvenience of having to go to a different store and at a time that wasn’t conducive to my schedule but that I couldn’t get the discount unless I called. However, she didn’t say anything about the discount in the follow up email.
My sister, mom, and I are extremely disappointed with this experience. We were all SO excited to go to Bhldn, it is so special to us because my sister got her wedding dress there. Instead of having a wonderful time and feeling like I bride I was left wanting, and feeling like a burden. I hope that no other brides have to have the experience on a day that should be so special.
The stylist never told us her name, but had very short gray/black hair cut very close to her head. I got an email a week later with the dress details, even though she said it would be the next day, and it was sent from Jess who stated she was...
Read moreThis review is honestly a little late and I couldn’t let another day go by without leaving it! This will eventually be a raving review about Hailey and this BHDLN location, but first you’ll need some context!
Back in November, my bestie and I went to a CT BHLDN store to shop for her dream wedding dress for her wedding in February. She found “the one”, the in-store experience was nice, and she was SO excited to wear the dress on her big day. Fast forward, and her dress delivery keeps being pushed back week after week for the next two months, getting dangerously close to when she would need it to start alterations for her wedding. Finally, she calls the CT store we shopped in and asks them the deal with her dress and when she will receive it. The associate basically told her that it’s looking like she won’t receive her dress until February now, but “no biggie” since her wedding was in the summer, when her wedding was February 10th! They had no record of her in their system, and treated her as if she didn’t come into their store and spend the money on her wedding dress there. After the associate said her dress couldn’t and wouldn’t arrive in time for her February 10th wedding, she basically said sorry not sorry and good luck finding a new dress (I wish I was kidding).
This was when I (MOH) got involved and went on a MISSION to find this dress. I looked all over the resale sites of the internet, Facebook, etc. and then decided to call other BHLDN stores to see if by some slim chance a miracle occurred and maybe someone happened to return this exact dress in her size or something. No such luck, but when I explained the situation to Hailey over the phone, she instantly reassured me and said we will do whatever we can to get this dress for your bestie! Within a five minute phone call, she found that there was ONE of the dress in the correct size in the BHLDN database (which by the way, to my knowledge all BHLDN stores also have access to, so once again way to drop the ball @ CT store) and got it to my best friend with rush shipping by literally the next day. No exaggeration. In five minutes she did what the CT associate wouldn’t even take the time to try to do for HER paying, heartbroken, soon to be dress-less customer. Hailey took an issue that was not caused by her own doing, and made it her job to fix, and for that I am SO grateful!
I’m not one to leave a bad review, so for the other store they’re off the hook this time, but I needed to make sure Hailey got the recognition she deserves for LITERALLY saving the day when it came to my best friend’s wedding and her wedding dress! She didn’t have to go to the lengths she did to make it happen but she did, no questions asked and immediately! This store is beyond lucky to have her, and all of the BHLDN stores should take notes when it comes to their management! Thanks again Hailey, you played an essential part in making my bestie feel so beautiful on her wedding day, and you’re a wedding dress hero in my...
