Updated, Updated Review: Whomp, whomp. The draft latte is right sometimes and not other times. It makes me sad because I like the atmosphere. They just aren’t getting their portions right with this. I paid for a full cup of coffee but really drinking foam and coffee equivalent to a shot. The owners cool, the workers are too but the product delivery fails hard. I have to wait for all the foam to settle to see that a large is really just short of a small. The photos are of me “letting the foam settle,” I haven’t touched it or sipped it at all. :(
Updated Review: Management reached out, apologized and since then the coffee has been fresh and worthwhile. I appreciate the positivity of the worker I had the run with and since then the experience has had ease. I’m still working my way to trust Ming service but the coffee can’t be downed. It’s good coffee.
I was really glad to see an establishment in the neighborhood serving La Colombe draft coffee. It's my favorite and I have it every morning and I usually have to drive to Manhattan to get it. I was happy with it until my original draft one day tasted like oat milk. I of course complained because I don't drink oat milk because it overpowers the lovely taste of the coffee I enjoy. I brought it up to the manager who seemed not to believe me, then finally checked and it turned out I was right and someone made a mistake with the drafts and levers. Without a discount, refund, anything to appease their mistake, I was literally left with a sour taste in my mouth for the cafe.
Fast-forward to this morning 8/22/23... it happened again. My usual draft latte tasted sour and like oat milk. Gross. I had to encourage the male worker to taste it for themselves. The male worker finally tasted it and said it was fine. It clearly was not. The only mistake I made was I wished I kept the draft so they can compare the difference! Anyway, I was offered a full refund but not without angst and public complaints about the "tough" morning they had to other customers.
I'm giving the place three stars in hopes they get better service and also really glad the dude made a fresh draft (as it should always be served)
Man, just serve me what I order and hopefully it's freshly stored at the correct temperature since I pay ~$6 (if not more) for it every single morning. They ruined my morning and afterward I just couldn't get the sour taste...
Read moreOne of the top coffees in the neighborhood, for sure, but also not much competition.
The huge fault with this place is they take customers one at a time, blindly focus on finishing their order, before moving on to the next customer, which, fine, except that that they always have one barista working at a time on weekdays, who most of them are not very fast with their hands and never in a hurry no matter how long the line is.
They spend 5 minutes with each customer, slowly making their drinks one at a time, making small talks (literally 5 minutes because I watch the clock to keep an eye on the train schedule). But for a cafe next to a train station, it's really not okay that it takes more than 10 minutes to get a cup of drip when there's two people in front of me. This is the fifth time I had to walk out after waiting because I know I can't get my drip coffee in time to catch the train, and that has been the story both in the mornings and midday.
I really want to buy coffee here, but I have no choice but to wait until I get to the city and go to a coffee shop whose one barista can take multiple orders and work...
Read moreI used to come here all the time and really love their coffee menu and pastry options but a few months back they have brought new staff who is a bit disgruntled and frankly rude, also not well trained because the few times I’ve been back since then the espresso in my drinks tastes burnt. I asked a couple of questions regarding the points system and another one regarding their seasonal items and it seemed like I was inconveniencing the barista by being there let alone asking a question. I also wanted to purchase one of their kimino sodas and he forgot to ring it in, I double checked to see if he had charged me for it and he became defensive. I said it’s all good I’ll put it back. Just weird vibes. Also the espresso in my cortado was definitely burnt again, not the first time that happens either which means the staff hasn’t been trained properly on the...
