âĽď¸ A classic Jewish Bakery!
My son's attended LaSalle Academy. They graduated Class of 1995 and Class of 2000, respectively. It was during the time around the mid-nineties that we encountered our first taste of their delights. I had seen the bakery several before but never had the inkling to stop by.
Forward back to the late 90's with my first son, my first graduating son, stopping by for Marbel cookies, Black and Whites, and Chocolate Babka, Challah Bread and their famous Apricot Hamentashan and Prune Hamentashan
We were hooked in a good but bad way, smile đ When the Second Avenue closed down, we took it hard đ , and missed the regular trips to the bakery. The lovely and kind servers and the stories that they would sometimes share and old skool warm greetings and everything nostalgic. The smiles. The winks. And, oh yes, the knowing looks as in making a mutual connection.
Fast forward to 2023, we finally got to visit the sister location on Grand Street, and believe me when I tell you that, we have reunited and found our way back home âĽď¸. Believe me. Thank you, Moishe Famiky. Thank you for all that you do, collectively, and for what uou represent now, and to generations to come. Peace,...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Moisheâs Kosher Bakery on the Lower East Side, introduced by a congregant at the Bialystoker Synagogue, and I have to say, their babkas are hands down the best Iâve ever had. I brought one back to Los Angeles just in time for Shabbat and it was a game-changerâperfectly rich and full of flavor. I also picked up two black and white cookies, which were some of the best Iâve ever tasted, and paired it with a strong black coffee. The friendly, heimish cashier really made the experience complete. The cash-only policy? Definitely a tell-tale sign of a great, no-frills establishment. With Jewish life on the Lower East Side changing, Moisheâs is a true gem that continues to preserve the quality and tradition we all cherish. Highly recommend making the trip and experiencing...
Read moreService is đŻ I donât review often, but this experience was worth it. I came in looking for rainbow cakes, and then realized I only had my phone and could pay with tap/Apple Pay, but they only take cash. So Shirley, the sweet and wise Jewish woman behind the counter, gave me the cakes and said she trusts that Iâd get her the money. The way she said it was so kind and of course I went on a mission to find my debit card, go to an ATM and yaddah yaddah it all worked out. Thank you Shirley for old school hospitality and...
