I had the opportunity to dine at PJ Clarke’s Sidecar in New York City (915 3rd Avenue) on December 3, 2024, during a business trip with colleagues. While the ambiance and overall dining experience were quite pleasant, I faced an unfortunate incident that marred an otherwise enjoyable evening. As I was enjoying my meal, a server accidentally stumbled behind my seat, causing a cup of mayonnaise to spill onto my suit jacket and shirt. I must commend the restaurant’s team for their prompt response; both the server and the manager immediately approached to apologize for the mishap. The manager kindly provided her business card, suggesting that I send her the cleaning bill for my clothes. After returning to my home in Montreal, Canada, on December 6, I proceeded to have my suit jacket and shirt cleaned, incurring an expense of 14 CAD. I sent an email to the address provided by the manager on December 18, 2024, attaching a copy of the invoice and requesting a refund. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response. On January 8, I decided to follow up with another email to inquire if my initial message had been received and to kindly ask if there was a way for them to process my refund. Regrettably, I found myself once again without a response. I took the time to verify the email address, and everything appeared correct, with no errors indicating the message was undeliverable. Despite my efforts, no one from the restaurant has responded to my inquiries. While the amount in question is quite modest, it remains discourteous for the restaurant's management to neglect communication with a customer following an incident caused, albeit unintentionally, by a member of their crew. I had hoped for a more proactive approach in handling the situation. Therefore, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend Sidecar. I believe that excellent service extends beyond the dining experience and includes how unforeseen situations are managed afterward. I hope that the restaurant can improve communication with diners...

P.J. Clarke’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a cathedral of carnivorous glory, a place where the burger is so good you’ll question every life decision you’ve made that didn’t lead directly to this moment.
The burger? Not a meal. A revelation. A life-altering, soul-realigning, borderline spiritual awakening. You take one bite and suddenly you're having a montage of your best memories, your worst heartbreaks, and that one time you thought you could go vegan. This burger doesn’t judge. It just heals.
And then—then—you wash it down with a drink so perfectly made it feels illegal. The drinks here are smooth, potent, and lovingly poured by bartenders who look like they’ve seen Sinatra, a Wall Street crash, and possibly your future. Whether it’s a martini that could cut glass or a whiskey that whispers “tell me your secrets,” you’re in good hands.
But the clams casino? Let me be clear: these are not appetizers. They are sacraments. They arrive sizzling, smoky, buttery little miracles that make you sit up straighter and reevaluate your personal relationship with shellfish. If a priest handed me one during communion, I’d say “finally.”
The vibe? It’s classic New York with a wink—old-school without trying too hard, like your cool uncle who maybe used to hang with the Rat Pack. There’s wood paneling, there’s energy, there’s a quiet confidence that says, “Yeah, we’ve been doing this forever. Sit down and behave.”
I would fight for this place. I would defend it in a court of law. I would get this burger tattooed on my body if it meant never forgetting what happiness tastes like.
11/10. Bring your appetite, your emotions, and maybe a small towel to cry into when the clams...
Read moreAbsolutely loved P.J. Clarke's 100% recommend it for anybody coming into New York for vacation and even some locals who may have never given it a shot. Let's first start off with the service, the service was amazing! Our waitress was on point. She kept up with all of our oyster needs and drinks as well she didn't miss a beat! Nextly the food. Where to begin when talking about the food? Let's start with the appetizers we got the delicious deluxe appiters which was half a lobster, 6 east coast oysters, 6 littleneck claims, and 6 bloodspot claims and four jumbo shrimp along with a dozen of oysters. Everything tasted amazing and we ended up with four dozens of oysters that had two types of oysters served, I don't know the species sadly, but they were delicious. Nextly I ordered the 8 Oz. Filet mignon medium rare. Let me say they didn't add any unnecessary flavoring simply pit sea salt on the steak and cooked it and wow was the flavor amazing the meat almost melted in your mouth. I also ordered truffle fries and baked macaroni and cheese. The truffle fries were delicious and really caught me off guard with the flavor profile of simple French fries. The macaroni and cheese really tripped me out being from Kentucky I never had peas in my Mac and cheese and honestly I wasn't expecting how well it went together. Lastly and probably the best part of the night was meeting the manager after dinner his name was Mazin Manahi, he took time out of his day to talk with us and get to know us. We really appreciated his time to talk with us and really made the trip personal and look forward to coming and seeing our new...
