First and foremost this is my absolute favorite Location to get my pastries from and my coffee. The staff is incredible, but I need to talk about my experience today and how moved I was. Today a woman walks in behind me who was clearly homeless and disabled, but absolutely harmless— she asked some people for help, and as I was offering to purchase her a meal, a customer very aggressively goes up to her shoos her away and tells her her odor is horrible and she needs to leave and get out of there. She did not deserve to get mistreated at all, so of course I went ahead and offered to get her her meal and a treat. Jay, An employee that was restocking the fridge, Witnessed this interaction and told her she can get what she wants and he will pay for it with his own money, instead of me. He informed me that she was going to forget in just a few seconds (I believe she might be a regular and suffers from dementia or something of the sort). She did forget and came back up to me and asked me for help again so the staff and I helped lead her to her meal, handing it to her. I believe Jay told the manager that he was going to pay for her meal, and instead the manager paid on his card. Act of kindness, like this, will keep me coming back again, and again, and again. I sat back and talked to the staff, overwhelmingly, thanking them for their acts of kindness & not furthering my treatment of this vulnerable woman. Today, this place deserves a zero star review due to an unprofessional way of treating clients of the so-called manager with the fake name John (over the phone), who is actually Charley (when I stepped inside the store). I placed an order for a birthday cake and another 10 pastries for delivery. I received as delivery just 8 pastries and no cake. When I called the store, I had the bad luck to speak with this manager who has No Idea how to treat a client or how to solve an issue that was caused by them . The only answer I received was ,,I don't know; my colleague made a mistake, we don't have your cake; come to pick up if you want" ; He unprofessionally hanged up the phone 5 times on me. I asked him to apologize, and he said he wouldn't. Not even mentioning that he could not even apologize and didn't, he didn't even want to process my full refund after I returned the other half of the order. HORRIBLE! Instead of apologizing , fixing the issue , refunding for whatever was not available , and providing an inconvenience discount , HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY FULL REFUND AFTER THEY MESSED UP MY ORDER. He was making fun of me. This individual DOESNT need to work in customer service as he has NO IDEA how to treat the clients !

Not only are the cakes delicious and beautiful but it definitely satisfies my sweet tooth since I’m 6 months pregnant. I frequent your 86th and Lexington location but the last two visits have fallen short in experience. I went to go pick up a cake for my anniversary on Sunday 9/22, there were at least 4 other people browsing the pastries but not a single employee was on the floor offering help. Upon looking over to the counter, I saw that there were at least 3 employees behind the counter having a chat with someone who they seemed to know on a personal level. They did not make short of the conversation and only scattered to help the guests when their friend left. I stopped by again yesterday 9/28 for some sweets to take to work. Once again, no one offered help, not because you were short on staff because there were definitely more than enough employees, only they stayed behind the counter or kept disappearing to the back. You would think that with all the employees behind the counter that my visit would be quicker once I went to pay but by the time I got to the register, I was once again left unattended. The lack of attention for the guest experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth where it was once so sweet. The team needs to find a better way of operating and learning to have their aces in places to avoid making their guests feel so ignored and having them wait for an unnecessary amount of time.
