Edited to add that both Splacer (the event booking website) offered to refund and my credit card company sided with me after I provided them with all the evidence.
Horrible service - I implore you please not to visit and support dishonest liars who do not treat their customers with any respect or decency. I have never written a poor review about service (look at my history) - just want to emphasize do not come here and support this deceitful business.
We hosted an event here and we paid the full amount in cash afterward, and now they won't refund our credit card deposit. We confirmed several times that they would return this deposit. Now they are claiming the deposit is for the space -- prior to the event, they had said that they would not charge for the space because we were hosting it during non-peak hours.
We have in writing that 1) we would not be charged for the space and 2) what we paid in cash is the total, all included. We had asked multiple times about the return of the deposit, and they confirmed they would be returning it. Now, they are dismissive and gleefully say they just refuse to return it - their words exactly: "It is what it is"!
Reply to owner's comment: Now you are claiming this is for the space. But prior to the event and even right as we were paying after the event, you and your employees told us explicitly that it would be refunded. If you want to charge a room fee post-hoc, you should not have dishonestly told us this charge would be refunded right before we...
Read moreI come from Italy and I’ve been looking for a good Italian bar and restaurant for the days I miss home. I tried their blood orange spritz and it was a soft twist on the classic aperol spritz. Their spin on the old fashioned (the “new fashioned”) was really balanced. Their stracciatella and focaccia was great. Their thin crust pizza was like home, the tomato sauce tasted less sweet than several I had in NY (and it’s a good thing). Their espresso was exactly like the one I have in Italy, smooth, very balanced and not acidic at all. NY espresso is usually too acidic for me. Their espresso was the best. At the end we had an amaro flight and their homemade limoncello was much better than the commercial one. The service was great, friendly, welcoming and attentive. The best Italian restaurant so far even compared to much more expensive restaurants downtown. After additional visits, I noticed their aperol spritz is hit or miss. I would not recommend it.
Edit: unfortunately I had to change my review. During my last visit with my gf, we stopped for the happy hour and we felt like the staff expected us to spend more. Maybe it was a bad day or something, but the vibe didn’t feel right. Also the spritz was off again, so no...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place in Brooklyn that nails the dolce vita vibes without the airfare, Pizzette is it. I came here on a warm evening, and from the first sip of their perfectly chilled Aperol Spritz, I knew I was in for a good night. Refreshing, slightly bitter, with just the right amount of bubbles — it’s exactly the drink you want in hand while people-watching on a Brooklyn street corner.
We started with the burrata, and honestly, I could have ended my meal right there and been happy. Creamy, rich, and so fresh it practically melted on the fork, paired with a drizzle of olive oil and just enough seasoning to let the cheese shine.
Then came the sourdough pizza — light, airy, and with that signature tang only good fermentation can give. The crust had the perfect chew, the charred edges added depth, and the toppings were fresh and balanced without being fussy. You can tell they care about the dough here, which makes all the difference.
Pizzette is the kind of spot you linger at: sip, bite, laugh, repeat. It’s casual but elevated, perfect for a date night or catching up with friends over too many slices and one too many spritzes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — for the burrata, the crust, and the vacation-in-a-glass...
