This location is the first physical retail location of the popular, beloved, coveted 2y old online retailer of fine Taiwanese goods. Their steep care and attention to detail in every facet of this 300 ft2 space is such a shrine and homage to our beloved ancestral homeland. There's a delightful curation of non-perishable Taiwanese goods including condiments, snacks, artworks, bags, gifts, postcards, books, etc. I see so so much potential in so many arenas of the Taiwanese community which continues its rise in every area including retail and media which merge here.
There is a lot of emotion in seeing these many like classic cookbooks and mailboxes and artistic cues all of which remind me of childhood and make me contemplate identity, time, and being. The reverence in retail design here transcends its size and physical state to one of kudos to our ancestors, being, and selves in a way that I didn't expect and yet, should've expected.
Location is classic Williamsburg, 2 blocks west of the L train at Montrose Av, 5 blocks from the J train at Lorimer Av, and 4 blocks from the G train at Broadway.

This shop has some weak white rice wine for maybe a quarter of the size for $18. Weird vibes. Disgraceful. They displaced the Hispanic community for this? If I had to rely on these people for actual groceries I would...
