As a regular customer of this restaurant, it saddens me to have to give Sakura Tokyo such a low score. The score itself does not reflect their food. I find their prices excellent, and the food delicious. Their delivery times are also more than reasonable, often coming to my house with the food in less than 30 minutes, which is no easy feat ordering from restaurants in Brooklyn.
The low score reflects their customer service. I used to have to go downstairs to pick up my food because my door buzzer wasn't working. Living on the fourth floor, it was a bit annoying, but totally worth it for the food. I fixed the buzzer abut two months ago, and have been buzzing in the delivery man ever since. However, the delivery man doesn't seem to like coming up the four flights of stairs (I believe this is why the customer tips--to have the food at their doorstep) to my apartment, and for the last couple of times have proceeded to yell over the phone for me to come down and get the food. Today will be the last time I order from this restaurant--I don't need someone to aggressively yell at me over the phone just because they don't feel like delivering food to where its supposed to go.
So in short, great food, great prices, but not worth the hassle--no respect for their...
Read moreI’ve ABSOLUTELY had my fill of this place with their delivery person. He is one of the most disrespectful people I’ve ever had to deal with. We order through Grubhub and leave specific instructions
“PLEASE RING THE BELL FOR APARTMENT R TO BE BUZZED INTO THE BUILDING. WE'RE LOCATED ON THE TOP FLOOR. PLEASE BRING OUR DELIVERY ORDER UPSTAIRS TO OUR APARTMENT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.”
Not only did the delivery person not ring the bell, he left the order outside the building and decided to call my phone to say that he left it there. I shouldn’t have to say that we tip because it’s normal with delivery. However it’s not when the delivery person doesn’t follow the request and when called to ask about what he did was totally rude, disrespectful and dismissive saying “if you have a problem just call the number.” As if he doesn’t care at all as long as he gets his tip. To make matters worse, when I got downstairs despite health issues to get the order it was torn into. If this is the kind of person Sakura Tokyo is comfortable with delivering their food and being rude to customers then I want no part of their business.
I will not recommend them to...
Read moreI was totally disappointed and disgusted, ordered food from Grubhub and they delivered. That was the only good thing about my experience, one of the containers was opened upon arrival and food was exposed some. (THAT'S NOT GOOD!!!) The food was a little salty 🧂 and very dry, the vegetables were fresh and the initial appearance looked good. Upon eating I discovered there was very little if any teriyaki sauce, the fish was cooked very well and the rice was dry without any sauce. I proceed to enjoy my meal and then I begin to start crunching, I think to myself this is odd so I spit out the contents in my mouth to find SCALES! So that means that the fish was not PROPERLY CLEANED or their cooking area is cross contaminated and not PROPERLY CLEANED. Whatever the scenario it's DISGUSTING!!! I'm totally disappointed and I will never spend my money there again. Thank you for the Teriyaki PTDS...
