Since I found this restaurant, I loved the ambiance and home made plates. As an Italian-American, it was refreshing to be served my waitresses with a beautiful Italian accent. You can tell the owner takes pride in this restaurant. It saddens me to write a review of one of my newly found favorite restaurants, but I have to comment on my husband and my experience tonight. We regular this restaurant once a week and have had wonderful service and meals until tonight. As a bartender for over 6 years I pride myself in excellent service for my customers. That being said, we walked in about 8pm on Friday night and the restaurant was busy, as usual. I noticed the two usual waitresses weren't working but instead there were two other young women. One didn't even come out from behind the empty bar and the other forgot what my husband and I asked for after 3 seconds. I asked the waitress 3 times for bread, ice, and lemon and it's still took 20 minutes to bring. She just kept her back turned to her customers, didn't ask how the food was or if we would like anything else. The owner had to get us our doggie bag, desert, and check! Ridiculous. The person who owns a business shouldn't be doing his employees work, but when your that bad of a waitress you need someone to think for you because you obviously have no common sense anyway. I'll be looking in the window before I go in next time, if she is there I definitely won't be dining that night.
I want to give 5 stars for the food, but if it was just for the waitress I would have given negative...
Read moreIf you have seen the movie you will want to go to this place just for the experience. I had a breakfast type plate with eggs and chorizo with a 2 pieces of bread. Also split some sliders with my dining companion. Serving wasn't as large as I thought it would be, as I saw servings at other tables much larger than mine, I guess it depends on what you order. Prices can range, from 8 bucks to 25 bucks or higher depending on what you order. The places is quite small and usually will have a waiting line. In consideration of others, please eat your food and get out, this isn't a coffee shop type place where you can sit and chit chat, the party next to me did more talking than eating, I felt really bad for the people in the line up. The menu is huge so if you plan your trip there make sure to check out their website and decide on what you want, otherwise you are going to be mulling over the menu for an eternity. NO pictures allowed for you fanboys/girls. Let's be honest though, the new place doesn't seem to have the charm of the one in the documentary. Kenny came out of the kitchen and looked like he needed a nap. Try this place out before he decides he has had enough of slinging hash for New...

I saw a few things made by shopsins on instagram and added it to my list of brunch places to try. I came on a Saturday and found out they close at 2pm Sat-sun. Pretty interesting. The menu is vast. This is a diner. There doesn’t appear to be a value meal on the menu but I may have missed it. Shopsins is a very quirky diner with really fun sounding meals. Its messy and eclectic but that seems to match the charm of the menu. A more skeptical person might say it skews cheap and relies on gimmicks.
I ordered cookie puss pancakes and zorro fries. Which was a mistake. Too much food. Way too much. Im a big guy, I can eat a lot. But the pancakes are stuffed with marshmallow and oreos and its way more food than you think. The fries were just waffle fries w cinnamon.
It took forever for me to get my food. I think there was only 1 cook. Still, I will be returning to this location to try some of the other things, like the chubby. Bc they looked great and I liked what I ordered the first time.
This is food made for instagram, and me. And...
