This is kinda long...My son and I went to Sip & Play to hang out for some "Mommy & Me" time lol even though the ME in the equation is a full grown adult HAHA. Back to the review.
Cute concept, pleasant staff, we had fun playing games we haven't played in forever, and over all, would return and would bring and or refer others.
There is a part of me who thinks it may be a little overpriced but there's another part of me that totally understands the pricing. I'm thinking of it as similar to a cover charge at a venue. Anyway you pay $10-15/ person for 3 hours of time and have access to MANY options of board & card games.
Here's my only issue and a major take away. The name of the place is SIP & PLAY, and based on the food we ordered, I suggest you do only that. Order beverages, and play games. My son and both agreed that the next time we go, we won't go hungry. The quality of the food (chicken fingers, fries, and onion rings left much to be desired.
My suggestions are to do away with the food menu as it is currently. IMO I think you and your guests would be better served if you offered concession stand snacks like fresh popped popcorn, and soft pretzels, and maybe some sweets (which they did have) to go with the coffees and lattes...
I would also like to see more dedication to providing readily available pads of paper and pencils or pens necessary to play many of the games. Purchased in bulk at wholesale is supercheap and easily replaced. Especially pens that always grow feet and walk. Put the company name logo and address on them an voila! A cheap marketing tool. Anyway I look forward to my next...
Read moreGreat store with very competitive pricing, the friendliest staff, a clean, well maintained play area, and a decent selection of games. I play Modern here every Thursday and this store is by far my favorite place to play Magic: The Gathering. The tourney organizer, Jonathon Li is friendly, helpful, considerate, and really cares about the people playing Magic here. He will wait to start if someone is running late, will work with the players to figure out proper judge calls, and even lend you cards or a whole deck.
The store itself is very well lit, maintained, and most importantly clean. We all know board and card game enthusiasts can be on the smelly/ less hygienic side, but this store is thankfully better maintained. The bathroom is spacious and cleaned regularly with some cool artwork.
The staff is friendly and helpful. They've always been nice to customers from what I see, and will regularly bring your order to your table if you're busy playing a game.
All in all I couldn't recommend a better place to play board games or Magic:...
Read moreOverall it was a very fun experience with my party of 4, just two things were very concerning and I think it would help the place overall. You guys needa bigger kitchen, or more staff on the kitchen portion of things but I respect the fact the store gave me the money back for part of the order we didn't get( the drinks were awesome 👍🏽) I understand you can't fully Keep the best track of all the games within your establishment, but I noticed, there are ALOT of games but more duplicates of very unknown games, and actually some of the popular ones. I'm not upset over it at all because a deck of 200+ uno cards for 4 people is a win in my book, but the thing is from what we all saw were things getting damaged, things that weren't present in the boxes that held the games, missing pieces , missing instructions. It's a shame really because your place is really nice. I just hope there's a way to stop the thievery of...
