My boyfriend went here and bought shoes and was helped by a female employee. I donât remember her name but she was very helpful and nice. He had a great experience. Flash forward, I visited here on September 28 and it was abysmal. First of all, there was a male employee in a boot and crutches, and he clearly didnât need or want to be there. He asked me what I needed and I told him I would like to get a foot scan. He literally sighed in my face like that was the worst answer I couldâve given him, and he then pointed at an iPad across the room and said âGo get that.â He then told me how to do the foot scan and walking pad, and while I did these, he turned his back to continue helping another customer. I had no idea what I was doing. Another employee came up to assist me with the walking pad. I then waited for someone to go over the results with me. The guy in crutches brought the iPad over to me and immediately started suggesting different shoes and insoles, but he was looking at someone elseâs results. I had to point out that my name is not Michael and thatâs not my foot scan. He then proceeded to tell me that ASICs (what I was currently wearing) are a functional shoe but not an aesthetic shoe and he values both and said âWe need to get you in the Adidas Evos.â THIS WAS ALL BEFORE HE SAW MY FOOT SCAN. He shouldnât be recommending anything at that point because he doesnât know what would be best for my feet. A THIRD EMPLOYEE walks up with the correct iPad that I did my scan on, and he goes to pull several shoes for me to try on. While Iâm waiting, the guy on crutches is telling everyone how tired he is and how heâs about to go home. He leaves, the other employee walks back with the shoes. He then mansplains cycling running shoes to me and says âOnce you run more, youâll understand.â ???? I have BEEN running. I am training for my second half marathon of THIS year. I couldnât believe the absolute horrible service I was getting and I did not want to support and give them any money, so I walked out and left. I wouldnât recommend this location to anyone and I definitely...
Read moreI was loathe to shop at Fleet Feet frankly, it seemed too corporate and impersonal by the looks of it and I was bummed out that the old Jack Rabbit (before that even became a chain) had been eaten by a bigger corporate entity. I assumed the service would be impersonal and that I would be subject to a hard sell when I was merely browsing.
I was so pleasantly surprised by the service I received! Alex made me feel so seen and heard regarding my priorities and needs. He recommended the perfect insoles for my needs. I had come straight from the podiatrist's office with a diagnosis of plantars fasciitis and I walked out with the most glorious, pain remediating insoles by Currex (was planning to do more research online frankly but I bought them on the spot when I tried them on and felt such radical pain relief). Never had heard of that company and am a HUGE fan now. I was in pain walking into the store and NONE when leaving in these insoles!
He also recommended various shoes after I did the foot scan (before the insole fitting). The scan seemed weirdly accurate, I had wondered whether one arch was lower than the other but nobody had ever told me that in all my years of shopping for running shoes... and this makes so much sense with regard to my issues. I'll be back for stability sneakers soon. I don't love that there were no sales on older versions of sneakers when some were in stock (I asked for the older model and Alex was able to find one)... obviously that had nothing to do with Alex's AMAZING and utterly humanistic customer support. I loved my experience and am so grateful. Please commend him and his lovely manager (and the sweet door person). The best experience I've had at a sporting apparel store. What a constant bummer of a time to be a human being so thanks for the needed suicidal ideation...
Read moreUpdate: I returned to this location a few weeks after my initial amazing experience, but unfortunately, my recent visit on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, was deeply concerning. I was assisted by a Caucasian woman, possibly in her mid-30s to late 40s, who consistently displayed impatience, dismissiveness, and a lack of professionalism. She repeatedly cut her eyes at me, appeared visibly irritated with my situation, and abruptly walked away from my service after calling over management â all without providing her name when I requested it.
What was most troubling was the clear sense that I was being racially profiled throughout this encounter, leaving me feeling disrespected and marginalized. The male supervisor who took over also maintained an unwelcoming and dismissive undertone, further compounding the negative experience.
I strongly caution future customers and recommend specifically requesting to work with Serena, who has consistently provided exceptional service. My hope is that management addresses these serious concerns to ensure respectful and equitable treatment for all patrons.
I had a great experience at Fleet Feet Brooklyn. Serena was incredibly professional and patient, especially given my indecisiveness and lack of knowledge about running shoes. The store itself is spotless, and the entire staff maintains a high level of professionalism and decorum. They also have a very well stocked, hygienic bathroom. They also sell , and I found it very cool that they offer daily runs with patrons! Although I was told the Columbus Circle location has a wider variety, I never felt pressured to make an impulsive purchase. In fact, they encouraged me to try other brands and welcomed me to return if I decide to come back. Highly recommend for anyone seeking thoughtful,...
