unfortunately this is not a good review. i was so excited to try this restaurant as we always walk past it and notice it while we run errands or walk to other restaurants/bars in neighborhood and it looks lively and cute.
we read the reviews and were excited to go in as it was all looking as it would be a great experience.
well it started it out great we called made a ressie last minute and they said sure no problem 8:30 for 3 people would be fine. we show up and they didn’t ask for our ressie which is fine but assumed we wanted a table for 2 which we clarified and said no we called ahead and said it’d be for 3 people. no issue we got seated and water was immediately brought to table and menus. shortly after the server asked if we wanted any drinks and we ordered wine & some apps no issues. they kept checking in on us no problem through out which was amazing and we said we’d order dinner after wine and apps. it seems the owner and maybe family members were all serving which made it seemed like a family owned establishment and they were all working together to buss/serve. then it just all turned. one of the servers took forever to clear our app plates (which were kinda mediocre for the price. we got the caprese with buffalo & the carpaccio which was actually pretty decent) and ask if we needed anything which whatever it happens when it’s a bit busy i understand but it just got worse. we had to ask someone to take our dinner order after awhile of sitting there. mind you we had an 8:30 ressie so 2 hours before closing. once our dinner plates were dropped off around 9:30-9:45 ish no one ever checked in or offered cheese or anything. thankfully we had asked for some pepper earlier for the apps bc my pasta was in desperate need of something. i ordered the special with shrimp and it was so undercooked and dry?? like 0 sauce. whatever little sauce it had and shrimp was pretty decent actually. it was so sad overall as i was so excited to try out the food. my partners pasta (squid ink linguine) was overdone but had flavorful sauce which made up for it. we were done with our wine and waters and no one came to refill or ask if we needed anything else. it seemed like they were more interested in 2 other tables around as the servers just kept chatting with the tables. anyway as we sat with our empty pasta dishes. (we think sending back food is so rude and also complaining doesn’t get us anywhere) we were willing to let it go and maybe get some dessert and more wine bc there’s nothing that can’t be fixed with more wine and sweets BUT they literally never checked in again with us. closing time was approaching and nothing?? we kept being like oh well they’re busy they’ll check in eventually. well eventually came and it was almost 10:30. i stood up and told one of the servers that we needed our bill. he brought it over in 5 seconds and took our card. like ??? he could’ve checked in on us 45 mins ago??? like what in the world. no dessert or wine or asked if everything was okay happened so we paid and left.
i’m only writing this to let people know of our experience and the restaurant to perhaps do better? im sure maybe some will have different experiences and that’s ok. i rarely write reviews but our experience left such a sour taste in our mouths i just wanted to share. sadly we won’t be returning and friends already asked about how it went and we told them about our experience. we’re chill and understanding but this took the cake for the most blase no cares given...
Read moreI decided to try this restaurant on the recommendation of an Italian friend. Unfortunately, it was fully booked since I didn’t have a reservation. While I was texting my friend to suggest another place, an unexpected incident happened — the waitress opened a bottle of red wine right in front of me and accidentally sprayed it all over my face, clothes, phone, and bag.
I was completely shocked and stood there expecting her to immediately offer a tissue or at least some help. Instead, she calmly continued removing the cork from the wine opener, as if nothing had happened. Only afterward did she hand me a tissue — with a rather smug smile. She said “sorry,” but her tone and body language showed no genuine regret.
Then she looked at me and said, “I said I’m sorry,” with an attitude that clearly implied, What more do you want? At that point, I got really upset and asked to speak with the manager. She kept repeating that this was the first time something like this had happened, and then, in an almost dismissive way, asked, “Do you have any damage?” — as if I were exaggerating or trying to make trouble.
I honestly couldn’t believe how arrogant and unprofessional the service was. How can a restaurant treat its potential...

Food: Let’s start with the standout: the tiramisu. Absolutely nailed it. Creamy, not too sweet, with that perfect balance of espresso and cocoa. I’d come back for that alone. The pasta was solid—fresh and cooked just right—but leaned a little heavy on the salt. Still tasty, just had me reaching for extra water.
Service: The staff was warm and welcoming, the kind of place where they actually seem happy you’re there. Attentive without hovering, and they gave good recommendations without over-selling anything. Just easygoing, friendly service that made the whole experience more relaxed.
Ambiance: Spiga’s tiny—just seven tables—but in a charming way. It felt intimate rather than cramped. Think cozy dinner party vibes with soft lighting and a relaxed, neighborhood feel. It’s the kind of spot where you could easily linger over a glass of wine without feeling rushed.
Overall: Spiga’s a little gem. If you’re into unfussy, well-made Italian in a cozy setting—and you love tiramisu—it’s worth...
