Surprise, surprise. This place still gets 5 stars from me. It's because I'm still here ALL the time and I've probably spent close to $1000 here in the past year (this does not include the membership fee). I loves me the 5:30 to 7 time slots where I can grab a new castle with my work friends and scream in excitement, surprise, and pure enjoyment when we make ridiculous shots or have great rallies.
What started off as a simple way to stay in shape and hang out with friends has transformed into an essential routine in my daily life. To me, it's better than going to the gym and it's better than going out for a morning run. If I had to imagine a perfect day, I would definitely have an hour session of table tennis at spin as an activity.
Spin as a whole has maintained a rather casual crowd of players, so don't come here thinking you'll challenge anyone an open table (like in many of the other places). I think the niche is really just the casual group of friends that want to hang out for 30 minutes. I could imagine it'd be a decent dating spot with all those dark corners...
The other reason I come to Spin is because of reception. Anna (big hair girl) is super friendly and conversational. It's always nice getting greeted with a beautiful smile. Shout-outs to Dom and Michelle as well who are usually there during my shifts.
But by far the most important aspect of Spin that keeps it different from the rest (besides the booze), is the constant bucket of balls. Rob and Lawrence - thanks for putting up with the serves.
Hopefully I'll see anyone who sees this review at Spin. 5:30 to 7. I'm the Chinese guy with short pips, black rimmed glasses, and a white tshirt. 4 days a week - you're bound to meet...
Read moreI had the best time at Spin. This was my first time ever going there. The staff was knowledgeable, upbeat, and friendly. We didn’t eat the food because we ate before going there, but based on my overall experience given their great service I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s good; again, didn’t get a chance to try the food. The drinks were awesome. More than just a fun theme or esthetic/look. Usually places with “cool looking drinks” or mixed drinks are not worth the cost, but the drinks at Spin were strong and worth it. They have interactive games and fun opportunities to win prizes too. I won a hat during a rapid fire ping pong game with everyone in the venue against a Spin pro. So much fun! This is a Great place for friends and couples too; a date night, must have. There were small groups of friends and the venue is a huge space so it wasn’t uncomfortable or crowded; even on a Friday night. Music was great! Nice mix of everything. There’s no way you won’t want to come again. It’s clean, organized, and the environment is visually appetizing. There are so many other games besides just ping pong. The manager, Spider was thee best! They need to clone him based on his etiquette, approachability, and his attention to detail. He’s great with customers! You can tell the place is a reflection of his welcoming, friendly, courteous, and infectious personality. Hands down one for the best experiences I’ve had with my boyfriend in NYC. I...
Read moreExtremely rude guy at the door. When I entered, I showed him my ID in my hand, it he snatched it from my hand to look at it. I didn’t say anything. Then, when he was done looking at it, I took it back from his hand, and he accused me of snatching it. I said it’s my ID. Then he threatened to not let me in, even though we had a paid booking. Wow, some real ego here. Apparently I hurt his feelings by ‘snatching’ my own ID from him, even though he already looked it and verified my age.
Later I complained to the manager, and since the man at the door was outsourced to another company, they referred me to his boss. His boss was equally rude to me, and insinuated it was my fault. He towered over me and yelled at me.
What kind of attitude do these people have? This is how they treat their paying customers.
I hope SPiN management sees this, and uses another company to outsource their men at the door. At least teach them basic manners and how to treat paying customers. These people will...
