Place was empty when I walked in. I was the first in line when few others had walked in. I was patiently waiting for my order when I realized other people’s orders being filled and I’m still waiting. Only when I walked back to my barista and asked what was going on that I was finally served and not before the girl made me a baby sized drink rolled her eyes and corrected to medium I ordered only after she verified I wasn’t “lying” about it and serving few more people before finally completing my order. My barista explained the system was down which I was buying because it didn’t seem to interrupt other orders. I’m not saying it was directed at me personally and I understand working on Christmas Day is no one’s wish but if you’re there and obviously getting paid do your job. Mistakes could happen but if you’re not talking behind the counter as if it’s a social gathering and customers are just a nuisance then this won’t happen too often. Oh! Don’t lie to us either unless you think anyone who’s comes to Starbucks is somehow an idiot! I’m sorry you’re a repressive of Starbucks. You, yes you, the miserable who got stuck working on Christmas Day 2018 on the corner of Court street and Joralemon. I’m not a Starbucks frequent but when I do I usually enjoy the experience. I don’t write reviews usually but thought this should be noted to whom...
Read moreI have been going here since I’ve been a college student and as a long time Brooklynite and I’ve never dealt with rude customer service since today. I ordered two food items and a drink with a male cashier and he asked if I’d wanted a bag, I replied yes and he added the bag tax charge to my order. I didn’t receive the bag from him, so I went over to the pick up counter to retrieve my food items and I was told that I need to get one back from the front.
When I did there was a girl at the cashier, so I asked for a bag. She then asked me, “it’s .05 cents”, I then responded “I already paid for it, just a minute ago.”, she then replied, “did you did it through the app?”’ I then said “No, I paid it in person with the guy.” She gives me the bag and then says, “here’s your bag, have a great day”. It was very condescending and I as a paying customer shouldn’t have to go through so much interrogation to get something that I’ve purchased. I should’ve received this bag after my transaction from the guy.
The staff here needs to be trained to be more courteous to their customers, instead of being interrogated. And it’s also sad that it came from someone who looked like me. I won’t be coming back to this location, but rather the Starbucks down the block that is exceptional in their customer service!...
Read moreThe store is overall pretty cute, I came in today because I was craving an iced tea latte. Their merchandise behind the counter was in mild disarray, but I'll just chalk that up to them being busy (the rest of the display counters were rather neat).
I ordered an iced London fog tea latte with coconut milk at around 4:15 and had to wait a good 20 minutes for it, which I mean I'm patient, I don't mind. You have to steep the tea before you can ice it, so it's a little time-consuming.
My issue is that the tea for my latte was oversteeped. It only takes maybe 3-4 minutes (max 5) to steep earl gray. If you're unfamiliar with earl gray tea (used in a London fog) it's a black tea, which means that when oversteeped, it will draw out tannins from the leaves and become bitter/astringent. As sharp as my drink tasted, it probably was left to steep for a good 10-15 mins. Which is fine for an herbal tea, but pretty awful for a black or green.
I'm really rather quite chafed now that I've wasted six dollars to wait 20 minutes for a watery and astringent tasting tea latte. I still left a tip, and I may come back again to try a coffee drink, but I don't think I'll be trusting this location with anything tea related at any near time...
