I love this bar. It's an Astoria/Long Island City gem and should always be considered as such. Been coming here for upwards of five years now (about half of the bar's existence) and love the area surrounding it with plenty of fun things to do. Definitely stop in before or after a visit to the museum of the moving image or a show at the movie theatre around the corner! You can also just entertain yourselves there on a Wednesday night at 8 PM for Trivia, Thursday night at 8 PM for Bingo, or Thursday night at 11 PM for Karaoke (all free!)
The food is far better than you'd expect by just walking into a bar known for their constantly rotating (and delicious) beer selection. Their classic standouts are the spicy rubbed (and sauced) wings and their selection of quesadillas. The top sandwiches? The epic "steel city" brisket sandwich (bring a friend to split it with!), the "old-fashioned" fried chicken sandwich (complete with mashed potatoes and gravy on a biscuit!), and one of the best Cuban sandwiches you'll find in Queens! As for veggie fare, the vegetarian chili and nachos are to DIE for, along with the spicy southern-style salad and the beet salad!
Bring a growler to stock up on a rare or seasonal beer or two to bring back home, or just make your way down the line of a super-eclectic beer selection!
How do I know the staff is friendly? I have been known to work here from time to time, so feel free to name drop 👍🏻😎🍻
@chelsbarks for all the happy things!

Read moreIn case you don’t want to read the rest of the review, in short: MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE. This was mainly due to the poor service. I went in on a Sunday afternoon. There were maybe a grand total of six customers asides from myself and my girlfriend. We sit down on the corner of the bar and we’re not even greeted. Granted, I don’t really care for a kind server. I understand how the job is. But it’s 1 o clock in the afternoon, the sun is out and we were the only people at the bar, you can’t even give me a head nod to a knowledge I’m there? No physical menu, I had to scan a QR code. Which is is cool… but it’s a bar… and the menu did not feature any of there beers on tap. Maybe it was on another menu? But who knows, this bartender/ server was incompetent. He gave us and mainly my girlfriend; a terrible attitude. He kept asking us to repeat our order at least three times, and still forgot and gave us an incomplete order. We didn’t not reciprocate the same energy. We were mild mannered, my girlfriend grew displeased. His pour was terrible. The food is getting three stars because the wings were actually tasty and also for the love of I have of Sunswick from my younger days. The bartender or whatever you want to call him. Extremely disrespectful towards my girlfriend. I had spoken so highly of the place and they treated her like absolute garbage. From the looks to the...
Read moreDELIVERY REVIEW -- I would honestly give this place more like a 3.5 since some things have been amazing like their chicken quesadilla that has a nice crispy tortilla and their breakfast burrito, but then there has been a really bad miss with their Mexican cactus salad (so soggy and bland).
Since that's out of the way, I will say, this is the second or third time I've gotten their quesadilla and it's been ON POINT every time. The chicken and peppers inside are flavorful, the salsa they give with it is delicious, and their guac has actual chunks of avocado in it unlike other places that most likely just got store bought guac. Honestly one of my favorite places for a quesadilla. It is always still warm when I get it too and the top is still crispy.
I've also been a fan of their boneless chicken wings and my fiancé is the breakfast burrito fan. So honestly, really good place for more standard bar food, just don't order a salad...
