First off, this location is prime and their hours are the best. Many places around here close early and Im always craving good food when it comes to late night munchies. Their logo is also mad cute. Its the owner and her daughter-in-law! Im always one for family businesses. They give the vibe of “we care, we’re family.”

Now on to the food. Originally, the plan for me and my fiancé was to grab a quick bite before we eat our dinner…but things took a mouth watering turn. The fried chicken was sooo juicy and the crisp was amazing. A lot of korean fried chicken places their wings are flavorful but the crisp is either lacking or soggy. Here, the soy garlic wings had a nice crispy texture and the flavor wasn’t overpowering but just enough to get that savory soy garlic taste. The original wings were especially crispy and paired well with the sauces. My favorite was the spicy honey mustard and the spicy cheese. Couldn’t get enough of it. Now for the best part. The spicy crispy poppers…man… I usually prefer bones over boneless but these poppers changed my mind. The meat was juicy and didn’t have that rubbery feel that most boneless chicken have. And the spicy gave the poppers a nice pleasant kick. To make it even harder for us to stop eating, we also got the kimchi that was made by the owner and i gotta say kimchi with the crispy poppers is a pairing you have to try. Once you wat the poppers you want the kimchi. If you eat the kimchi you want the poppers. Once you go kimchi poppers you cant go back.

Finally, the service was great. Cant say how nice it is to have workers chat with you and treat you with respect. They did a good job with hiring the right people for front of house. They kept the dining area very clean. The icing on top was that the bathroom was clean and tidy. So hard to find a decent bathroom in the city.

10/10 recommend this place for all your late night/korean fried chicken cravings

I was happy to get accepted into Elite Week with Sweetie's K-Chicken, a mother-daughter duo owned and operated Korean fried chicken restaurant in the heart of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The Elite perk included a complimentary Korean corn dog. The choices were original sausage, mozzarella, or half & half. I wanted to experience "the best of both worlds" so I went with the half & half. The corn dog was a nice size and pretty tasty. The sausage was good and gooey mozzarella was hot and yummy. The outer layer of the corn dog was sprinkled with sugar. Such a tasty combination.

Word on the street is that they are especially known for their Korean fried chicken. I'm a HUGE fan of Korean fried chicken and since I knew that Korean corn dog wouldn't be enough for me I didn't hesitate to purchase an order. I decided on their spicy soy garlic wings (8 pieces, $14.99). After the first bite I fully understood why their chicken get rave reviews. I was absolutely blown away. My personal opinion is their Korean fried chicken is their hot ticket! Their Korean corn dog is good but it has absolutely NOTHING on their chicken. I will be coming back just for those wings. They are truly in my top three of best Korean fried wings...

So we here at Instagrams @Colonialfoods heard about this Korean chicken place- “Sweetie's K Chicken”. We set out to have an adventure! When we got there a very nice young man took our order. He was very patient as we really didn’t know what to order and we couldn’t pronounce some of the food names. I went with the Soy Garlic Chicken Bowl, Nicky got the Gochujang Poppers. We sat and waited for our order to be ready as one guest after another entered and soon the line was to the door! We didn’t have to wait long, the kitchen to table wait time is literally a couple of minutes! Both entrees literally exploded with flavor. We both ordered our meals spicy, and wow was that a great idea! We tried each others food because we couldn’t believe how delicious everything was. Each piece of chicken was crunchy, bursting with the delicious authentic sauces they were tossed in! The prices were reasonable and we left feeling full! Are we going back? YES!! Did we mind the 50 minute drive from Long Island to get there? HECK NO!! Worth every bit of the drive! Should you hop in your car and go there?? MOST...
