I've been coming to this bar for about 10 years now and its absolutely one of my favorite bars in LIC and all of NYC to come to for drinks and the ambiance. I've come here on dates and come here with a friend or a few friends and even relatives to catch up. Its very intimate, cozy with drinks that are definitely top notch and high quality. The music is just right and sets the tone. Its never overbearing and always at a volume where you can whisper if need be and never have to talk over the music to have a conversation.
If you're looking for a place to take a date and to have quality crafted drinks, I highly recommend this place. The drinks are a work of art and though it can be a little pricey, they are worth it. Make sure you get a two seater if on a date.
I remember they used to have some SLAMMING food here but they stopped serving food. I don't know what happened with that.
The service here is top notch and every server I had was always really knowledgeable and helpful with what drinks they think would suit me or my fellow patron.
The bar in the back is chill and never gets too packed and doesn't get crazy. The decor of the place has this.....I can't even describe it but its definitely cool.
Verdict: If you're looking to get crazy, buck wild, turn up then this really isn't the place for you--at all. Go across the bridge to Williamsburg.
If you want to have a good time, with great music whilst still being able to perfectly hear and not talk over the music, with a very cozy and relaxed ambiance, this is the place for you. Want a perfect date night? Don't look any further.
PROS: -Amazing ambiance -Drinks are unique and a work of art -Perfect for a date night or catching up with your friends/family -Located in the heart of LIC
CONS: -Can be a little pricey so just keep that in mind -No more food being served here (for now I believe but that sucks because the sandwiches...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRumor has it that drinks are great but my friends and I will never know because the hostess was awful and rude. My party of 7 got there at 10:30 on a Thursday (for post birthday dinner drinks). The bouncer wouldn't allow us in right away because there was "no room"- ok fine we'll wait. We waited approx 20 mins and watched at least 8-10 people walk out and leave. After 20 mins of waiting this couple arrived and waited behind us. After a few more minutes the hostess came out and waived us in so my party as well as the couple behind us went inside and headed to the bar. Next thing you know the same hostess approaches us and says "I only meant to let the couple in, not you guys" (yes the one behind us that GOT THERE 20 MINS AFTER WE DID). She then proceeded to tell my party of 7 to go back outside and wait some more because there were "too many people at the bar" (all while a handful of people had walked out and she just let 2 in). Although their drinks appear to be good judging by the other reviews, bars like this are a dime a dozen in queens and in manhattan. Additionally, it's located in such an obscure area that, unless you live in LIC, is really not worth the train/ Uber there to risk a long wait on a Thursday evening, and to risk being kicked out and be treated so...

After a terrible night at TAO downtown, we yelped something last minute and found this hidden gem. Look for the blinking BAR sign. It wasn't hard to find, but from the looks of this place outside it looks VERY run down and super sketch. We almost thought it was closed down or something. We walked in and thought it was just booth like tables in restaurants, but as you keep walking you will see the beautiful bar. I love how behind every seat there is a coat hanging hook (We don't have this in California) so you will not need to hold your coat or bag on your lap. Everything in this bar just makes you feel like you are back in the 1920's with a true speakeasy prohibition feel.
I'm not really into old fashion drinks because I don't drink for taste, only to get to the point so I wasn't quite sure what to order. I went back on yelp and saw a picture and pointed it out to our bartender. He said that drink is called Queens Park Swizzle. The drink itself was so pretty, tasted great and strong. We only had one drink and left because we were pretty tired from the long wait we had previously at TAO.
I definitely recommend this place if you want a relaxing night with a...
