🏅Rock Shrimp Tempura
The shrimp retains its crispyness thanks to the tempura batter and pairs amazing with the japanese mayo. The side of salad is a great to balance the richness of the fried food and i highly recommend combining the shredded cabagge on each bite of shrimp for extra texture. Can't go wrong with this one. Great to share with the table.
👎 Steak Skewer
Not worth the price. $4.50 for 4 small cubes of tough steak and not much flavor is hard to justify. I think there are much better value offerings in their menu. I would skip this one on a next visit.
🍣 Sushi and Sashimi for 2
This was the main show of the night. Impressive presentation and great variety of their fish selection. Each bite felt like a different experience and the different toppings had a great impact on the flavor profile (sweet, sour, spicy). Choose this as an experience, it's rare that you'll love every single piece of the platter so if you are feeling adventurous go for it! 🤠
My favorites of the platter:
My least favorites of the platter: The rolls - The spicy tuna rolls were fine but the other 2 were not as pleasant. The eel roll had a mushy texture (it's not uncommon for eel type rolls that I have tried) and the other was the cucumber and Kanikama type filling that it's not the best choice of roll...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sapps, a small and trendy Japanese restaurant, and I cannot rave enough about the experience! From the moment we walked in, the lively atmosphere made us feel welcome and set the stage for a fantastic meal.
We started by sharing a few appetizers, which were all equally amazing. The takoyaki was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, bursting with flavor. The Kara-age was equally impressive, with its juicy, well-seasoned chicken and a delightful crunch. The pork gyoza had an ideal balance of crispy edges and soft dumpling texture, while the tempura appetizer showcased an array of vegetables and shrimp in a light, airy batter that simply melted in our mouths.
Moving on to the sushi, we indulged in a couple of specialty rolls – the Naruto and an eel roll. The Naruto roll was a delightful combination of fresh ingredients and creative presentation, while the eel roll was rich and satisfying, boasting perfectly grilled eel and a sweet, savory sauce.
Every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious, and the price point was surprisingly reasonable for such high-quality fare. Each dish cost less than $16, making it an excellent value for the exceptional experience we had.
The service was attentive, and the overall vibe of the restaurant made our dining experience truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Sapps to anyone seeking a modern Japanese dining experience with outstanding food, a lively atmosphere, and great value. I cannot wait to return and explore more of their...

Service : Front Host and servers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Made some great recommendations. Always in the small details like my water cup was never empty.
Started with grilled octopus , miso cod . The cod was flakey and grilled to perfection. The octopus was charred with a hint of smokey flavor, grilled to the perfect tenderness.
Drinks - had a passion fruit mojito. Perfect balance of sourness from the passion fruit to the Mojito. Compliments to the bar tender. I'm not a huge drink fan but there is an extensive list.
Curry Pork Kastu and sashimi for entrees. Super fresh fish would definitely order again. The curry was out of this world. Amazing depth of flavor to cover a juice pork Katsu.
Lastly we finished with the Cheesecake tempura with matcha ice cream. The slight bitterness of the Match balances the heavier creamy cheesecake exceptionally well.
Overall compliments to the chef. We had an...
