Tacos El Torito Versatile — Restaurant in New York

I don't ordinarily post reviews but I felt compelled to after the absolutely pathetic experience that I just had here. I work in the area and ordered a chicken quesadilla for takeout this afternoon.

I've ordered a quesadilla or two from restaurants in my life and when I opened the takeout container I saw something that was I certainly wouldn't identify as a quesadilla and would say that the food item I received bordered on totally unrecognizable. In the container was a large tortilla folded in half that was filled with a ton of tiny little pieces of meat that looked like it could possibly be chicken. However, if it was chicken, it was clearly the scraps that were cut from a larger piece of meat that were probably intended for the trash. The meat was cooked to death and varied in consistency from dry and hard to dry and rubbery. There was maybe 1/8-1/4 cup of rubbery and flavorless cheese folded and melted into the tortilla as well. The tortilla was not pressed and there was hardly any cheese in it, so as soon as I tried to cut into it it fell apart and the meat fell out of the tortilla.

I drowned the food in salsa to make it edible because it was late in the day and I was hungry but I only ate half of it because I was so disgusted with it. Will...

Used to eat here often, have tried about 1/3 of the menu, and Versatiles was our 'go to' Mexican place in the neighborhood. Everything was so so delicious.

After some time passed, I realized that I was getting an upset stomach about 30 minutes after every sit down meal inside the restaurant- and I did let management know about this problem as soon as I realized it (at least 2 years ago). However, according to more recent posts here, it sounds like the problem hasn't been fixed.

Oddly enough, I have never become ill when ordering takeout or delivery- and so my guess is that some type of contamination is occurring after the food leaves the kitchen- and is making its way (unclean plates maybe? ) to the table. So, there's a clue for the management.

I'm eager to dine here again, and so it's my hope that the owners will correct the problem so that I can again dine in at...

I ordered from this place as it was one of the few places still open in my area for delivery. I order from Uber Eats and Seamless quite frequently but was very surprised at the level of customer service this restaurant displayed. Not only did I receive a call from the restaurant confused with what I ordered directly from their menu but in my attempt to clarify I was hung up on. I called the restaurant back to ensure I was going to receive exactly what I ordered and was hung up on again. Both representatives I spoke with spoke very poor English and rude.
