Found my new favorite taco joint in Bay Ridge. Honestly, it's about time. I've been here going on 5 years, and have tried them all. Most are serviceable, some are even decent, Tacos Por Favor is like an 8/10, which is the best I've had since moving here. (Once, I had a 10/10, but that was in Florida and they're gone now.)

We ordered the taco platter last night. In order of favorite meats: al pastor, shredded beef, carnitas, tinga chicken. It was delivery, and we aren't that close to their location, but the food arrived quickly and still warm, which is impressive cause it was a pretty cold night last night. The green sauce is delicious and not too spicy. The red sauce has smoky notes, a decent amount of spice, but the kind of heat that doesn't last.

Okay, update time. They have new Birria tacos and it is delicious! Their AM Burrito is great (like seriously), and so are the chilaquiles and the croissant chicken sandwich.

We order about once a week, but I WANT to order more frequently. I could seriously have these tacos like 5 times a week. I've only picked it up personally one time; every other time has been delivery. They are ALWAYS friendly, fast, and delicious! No messed up...

Update 10/19/2022 Went for lunch and tried some new options: new carnitas tacos with cactus salad, chilaquiles with chorizo and chicken soup. All delicious but my surprise favorite were the tacos. That juxtaposition of texture and flavor are amazing.

Pedro and the Mandato Bakery team have a new location... Different menu, same tasty food. The breakfast burrito is the perfect blend of flavors that you come to expect from the culinary masters in their kitchen. The standard is with their signature chorizo and can be made vegetarian by opting out of that addition. The burrito comes with homemade potato chips too. The breakfast tacos have your choice of proteins with egg and caramelized white queso that provides rich texture and flavor. Today I also had their Tamales... And my first ever SWEET TAMALE! It had the taste of the holiday season. Can't wait to have these with a hot coffee during the colder months. Of course I highly recommend and can't wait to go through the rest...
