I absolutely love this place. I found the original on Smith Street not that long ago and then they announced a Park Slope location. The coffee is awesome and the people are just as awesome. Here’s an example: I love a cortado. They have an iced version, which I never really had although I basically know it’s like an iced latte with a bit less milk. But that’s too much milk for me in an iced drink. So after the owner showed me in the cup how much milk there was and I decided on an americano instead because I still thought it was too much milk, he told me he’d make me a version where he mixed the espresso and milk instead of pouring the milk on top of the espresso. That means a little less milk and a stronger taste, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. Perfect isn’t the right word. That kind of customer service plus this kind of coffee and great seating makes for a place I’ll keep coming back to. Really glad Velvette Brew found Park Slope and that I found Velvette Brew.

let's just say that i've always wanted to open a cafe, and this place is pretty darn close to how i'd do it myself--lots of food/pastry options, great coffee, and the music they play is mostly indie pop i would say. i like the interiors as well, great place to work with many seating options & outlets. my go-to order is the spinach quiche and iced americano with oat milk. above all, the staff is always so so welcoming and sweet.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owners through a friend and they're some of the nicest people I've encountered since moving to Brooklyn 5 years ago. They have a wonderfully tasty cappuccino in a land of boring cappuccinos. My friend tried the Velvette, a wonderful blend of coffee richness, creaminess, and just a hint of sweetness. Oh, and they have a lust-worthy chocolate chip cookie.

This is a solid cafe and used to be one of my favorites. When the owner and one of the managers is there the coffee is superb.

I know them for amazing coffee!

I’ve been two times in the past week and the cappuccino was subpar. The first time it was too sweet (very off brand for this place). They fixed it and it was great per usual.

The second time the capuchins was lukewarm. And when I asked for another, it wasn’t done as well, the level of care usually given wasn’t, and the barista was rude about the request.

One of the reasons I loved this place because the coffee was consistently amazing and this seems to...

This is by far one of, if not the best, coffee I’ve ever had! Every single employee is so nice and accommodating, not to mention the food and drink is nothing short of excellent. It’s on the pricey side, but it’s worth it. The velvette drink - I get it iced - is so excellent. I typically take my coffee with milk and a little sugar, but I never need ant sweetener in their coffee because it’s so rich and not bitter! Just the best! The açaí bowl is amazing and my best friend loves the...
